I am awake and alert for a busy day! Dad has PT, OT and the home health aide coming, and I have Verizon coming to install Fios.

I'm hoping the Fios will give me better internet speeds. I got the 500gb plan, which should be enough for everyone, assuming it performs as expected. I mean, I'm getting around 150mps with Tmobile, which is usually okay for everyone, but I'm not sure it could handle two people working from home on a VPN. It gets cranky with my VPN sometimes, so adding a second could be a problem. I'm not asking for much, just a fast, stable connection.

The various people visiting today are going to wear me out. That's four people that I have to pretend to be normal to, and that is exhausting for an introvert like me. I know Jess feels the same way.

Work yesterday wss fine, nothing to write home about. I did finally find an answer to an issue that's been plaguing me, so that's something. We don't have our own delivery fleet, so we contract to various transport companies. Most, we can book a pickup through our system, but then for customers in seriously rural areas we send a return note and the TSP books them, because their system and ours don't talk. Problem, is that's only for one transport company. But they were sending return notes for every customer over 100miles to the store, to all the companies. That didn't seem correct to me, so I went to the Operational Developer to verify, and no, everything but that one company needs to be booked through our system.

Of course, this is going to be a big thing for the people who are sending the notes, and I'm glad it's not my job to educate them. I got my revelation and passed it onto my team and my manager. The rest is up to him. The team that sets up the pickups can be a little...headstrong. They're not going to like hearing that they did the wrong thing, and will be very resistant to change.

I also got cranky and started giving out case errors, which is unlike me. But this one case was so messed up and someone put the instructions to fix it into the case (why she didn't fix it, I don't know) and not one, but two coworkers (in the dept whose job it is to fix cases) opened it and did nothing, even with the instructions on what to do in there. And then, the second one switched the queue, into somewhere it didn't need to be. I'm getting it six days later, and the customer has been waiting for a pickup for a simple fix. It just ticked me off. These people are getting paid the same as me to not do their job. Once I case errored them, I sent it to their manager, because I'm tired of the pending returns queue being the dumping ground.

After all that, I felt the need to stop by our local Mexican restaurant and pick up a margarita and chorizo queso dip. I forget that I like tequila sometimes.

Okay, time for me to go put on pants and wake up dad. Have a good Friday everyone!
