Today, I did not want to get out of bed. I woke up at 5, and my back was just aching like hell. I rolled flat, and despite it spasming, I dozed back off. When my alarm went off at 6, I was not ready for it. I could technically have slept til 7, since I'm going into work late. The eldercare social worker is visiting today, so I figured I'd take the morning off to deal with them. There's a lot of mystery regarding what a social worker actually is going to do for us, so of course there's some trepidation. Our house suffers from having three people with varying degrees of depression and disability, so it is not spotless or organized. My sister and father both lean toward hoarding and Jess and I can only do so much. So, we're a little freaked out about having someone come in and be judgey.
I mean, I think the important part is that Dad is being kept in a clean bed, with the linens and diapers changed regularly, and that we do the best we can to keep him clean and in good shape. Still, it freaks me out a bit. I mean, if they can give us some resources to make things better, that would be awesome. It's just a little daunting.
I put in for FMLA, but I'm waiting for the doctor to fill out the paperwork so I can send it back. It doesn't stop it from eating up my PTO, but it'll keep me from being penalized for using PTO now that my sick time is exhausted.
My sister has an interview today for a work from home job with TransAmerica. If she ends up getting the job, it's going to be an adjustment to have her at home all the time. I'm really not sure how that would go, tbh. But it's what she wants, and tbh she's paid for shit where she is. She's a site manager, and is making about 8k less than I am, and as we all know, I am not a manager.
Okay, time for me to go consider pants. Everyone have a perfect Tuesday!
