And it's Sunday already. I don't wanna go to work today. I want to go back to bed and nap for a while. But alas, my cat likes food (and so do I,) so to work I shall go. My manager and a handful of people are out today, so I'll be busy. I think I'm doing the delivery updates, though I may be wrong, can't actually remember what day M said she'd be out. My brain processed it, and apparently dumped it as non-essential.
I'm hoping it's tomorrow that she's off, but we'll see.
Yesterday was busy, but not as bad as I'd thought it might be. We went to Cracker Barrel and decided to have breakfast before we picked up our dinner meal. Surprisingly, for the day before Easter at 10am, it wasn't bad, and we were seated right away. We ate more than we should have, and then picked up our meal and were home by noon. Then, it was off to the rehab to see Dad. He was a little chatty, then My Cousin Vinny was on, so he got engrossed in that, and we basically just watched the movie. I forgot how much I liked that one.
While I was at the rehab, Jess kindly threw in the fried apples, and the hash-brown casserole, so all I had to do was toss in the prime rib and delicious yeasty rolls when I got home. Between the two of us, dinner was ready around 3pm, just in time for us to get a little snacky snack before game time. I really love their prime rib dinner It's a little peppery, but so good, and it comes with this utterly baller horseradish sauce that I love. I would put this shit on everything if it came in a bottle.
Then, we had game time, a one shot from the Keys to the Golden Vault anthology. We played Affair on the Concordant Express, and it was a lot of fun. Players were little chaos muppets as usual, and went in ways that neither I or Wizards of the Coast could have expected. This was the first heist I'd played from the Golden Vault book, and they seem to be pretty well thought out. Despite it being a one shot, it was requested to play another heist, so we have one set up in a bit over a month.
Tonight, we have another game, this one the Storm Lord's Wrath, which is the continuation from the Lost Mine's of Phandelver. It should be a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to it.
We've got a lot of TTPRG scheduled in the next few weeks. Next week is the slow week, with I believe only two games scheduled. The week after makes up for it, with four games, three of which I DM, and two of them on Saturday. The week after that is Confabulation Con, during which I'm running the RPF panel and then running a Monster of the Week game on Sunday.
So, if you've ever wanted to be one of my players and are planning to attend Confab (register here!) keep an eye out for the announcements! I chose Monster of the Week, since it's such an easy system to learn. Just two six sided dice, and a handful of attributes. If you roll under a six, it's a fail, 7-9, it's a mixed success-it works, but there's a price or complication. 10-11, it's a complete success. 12+, it's an advanced success-it works, and something extra happens in your favor.
We're going to be playing "Too Many Draculas" which is a fun little one shot that takes place at DraculaLand, the world's only vampire theme park. I've run it once with a handful of friends, and it was a little wild, but so much fun. I look forward to seeing what another group can do with it.
Okay, time for me to get myself in gear for work. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
