I'm a little less cranky about losing the job today. We've moved on into somewhat bitter acceptance. I spent some time yesterday putting in applications, so we'll see if we get any bites. I'm going for all remote jobs, because I don't see any reason to go into an office. There's absolutely no reason for us to be in the office at all. As long as we're getting our work done, it makes no sense.

I actually spent most of yesterday watching the new Netflix show "The Night Agent." I started the show on Thursday night to take my mind off things, and found I really enjoyed it. I honestly wasn't expecting it to grab me. I have so much trouble concentrating on plotty things these days. When I try a show out, I tend to watch 10-15 minutes, or even the first episode, and I'm like "that's good. I'll watch more of it soon." And then I never do. I saw the trailer for this during one of Netflix's autoplays, and I thought it looked good. So, on Wednesday when I went to bed, I was a little overstimulated and wanted something to drown the extraneous noise out, so I tossed on the first episode.

I really enjoyed it--it reminded me a bit of Alias, minus Jennifer Garner and with a somewhat boring white dude as the lead. So, yesterday, I opened my computer and put on Netflix, and spent the day binging the show. Despite bog standard boy for the lead, the rest of the cast was pretty diverse, though I would have liked more LGBTQ+ rep. There was one potentially queer couple, but for plot reasons, they weren't great. The plot kept you guessing and most of the characters had solid motivations that didn't require them to hold the idiot ball. As with most spy shows, it was heavy on the copaganda, but I went in expecting that. Oh, and the one assassin was legitimately unsettling. I mean, the actress plays subtly off really well. Just all ID, no restraint in everything.

I had the show finished by 4, and now I'm wondering if there's another show that might scratch that itch. I will have to look.

Then we had Curse of Strahd, which I had a blast with. It's just such a creepy game. And the players are so afraid of Strahd, and he just keeps showing up to just...watch. And try to charm the party members. And casting useless, but petty and extra spells at them. Like gust of wind to throw the window open so he can talk to the party unimpeded. Between that and the toymaker who has been making dolls of the woman they were charged to get to safety, it was just a weird session.

Today, I shall do All the things, and then game at 4. This should be a fun one. It's set on a plane hopping train, so I told them they could go weird. We'll see how weird they decide to go.

Okay, I'm going to go forth and get myself together to go fetch the prime rib. Everyone have a splendid Saturday!
