I feel like I've been behind on everything lately. So, a highly belated happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] justsonya and apologies for not making your party on Saturday. I suck.

For whatever reason, I'm bouncing back from the pneumonia slower than I'd like. Still coughing, still tired. I'm guessing a chunk of it has to do with getting my period hardcore this week.

Jess finally saw the Neuro yesterday, and we got Imitrex injectable and Topramax, and Naproxyn, and steroids.

Turns out? She's allergic to the injection. Hived up, had her wheezing. Thought we were going to the ER for sure. But three Benadryl and the inhaler settled it down. But all in all, it sucked.

Also, the Daeva is still trying to claw free of my uterus. With the added bonus of no anti-inflammatories. Just Tylenol.
Joy.

But it's okay. Because i'm off tomorrow. And Wincon is in seven months, and we're going to LA, baby!

*nod* There's been much discussion of what we're going to see. Right now, Disney's a 50/50 proposition. If it's the Nightmare HM, then we'd have to see, of course! But we also want to go to Knott's Berry Farm's Halloween thing. And Universal Studios, possibly. It's all kinda in the air.

So, what's the weather usually like in October? Swimming or no?

Hmm. I think it's kind of going to depend on your definition of warm enough.

It looks like it definitely averages between 81 and upper to mid 70s as the high, with lows in the 60s for October. Any given day on any given month, obviously, can vary widely. I wish I could be more specific, but my gut tells me that it usually rains once in October every year--hard to predict which spate of three cloudy days that will be. (No, I'm not kidding. Since we only get rain in part of the year, it's pretty predictable. Most years I've been out here, that's happened in October--one day's worth--and everyone acts like OMG that never happens. Then we don't usually get rain again until November, and not for real until December. It'll usually be mostly done with rain after February, although the last few years, we've had rain regularly as late as April. Then it won't rain again until the next fall. At all.)

So, usually in October we'll get a spate (3 or 4 days) of "grey, cloudy, and cold" weather (still in the 60s, mind you). Other times we get slightly early Santa Anas (hot as in 90+ and dry as in less than 15% humidity, withkiller winds). I think, if your goal is to get into the ocean to say you did it, not a problem. I think in a hotel pool, sholdn't be a problem at all.

Also, from a question I asked about this on my lj:

[livejournal.com profile] canalbaby figured I could answer this question for you since
I work there. :)

Last year it opened Sept. 29th, which is considerably early, but it was
since we were running the HalloweenTime overlay in the entire resort. It
should open around that time again this year--last weekend of Sept. or
first weekend of Oct.

The resort is finicky sometimes though, so it's still better to double
check back probably in the summer.
