Todays subject line brought to you by revisiting talitha78's fanvids. While we were driving to get Jess some sleepytime weed, not one, but three of my favorite fanvid songs came up on the playlist, and I got the urge to go watch. The Captain America one set to Problem remains one of my favorite vids ever.
Or if you prefer a blast from the past there's this lovely one from White Collar, which made me remember just how queer this show was. I maintain that they ended up in a nice little poly threesome.
This is what I did to distract me from the fact that the crew didn't fucking come to do our gas again. They apparently had several emergency jobs that they got called in on, which is fine, but maybe text or call me about it? Don't make me track you down at 9:00am when you were supposed to be here at 7:30am! Ugh. So cranky. Supposedly they're coming on Thursday now. Not holding my breath, honestly.
After that shitshow, I was hoping there would be something redeeming about the day, but not so much. I sat there checking my work email every three seconds, but nothing exciting ever popped up.
Now I'm trying to decide at what point do I send the recruiter & hiring manager another email? The last time I emailed, I was promised that I'd hear something by Sept 30th. My coworker M got her "no" email on Tuesday, so I know the decisions have been made. I know they give out the no answers first, but come on already! On one hand, I don't want to be a pest. On the other, I really want an answer. I might give it til Wednesday, then email. That'll be a full week after M got her decision. I mean, I obviously want the job very badly, but at this point, I just want to know. But god, the pay increase would be lovely if I did get it. Even if I'm on the low end of the pay band, which I would assume that I would be, it would be approximately $6k more than I'm making now. That would definitely be a help. I might even be able to start saving some money each week! That would be wild.
Today, we have absolutely no plans. Just kind of taking it easy. My sister is at her adoptive niece's track meet, so we'll be watching Dad for at least part of the day. Then, I may take my car to the gas station and put in some gas and try tightening the gas cap, in case that's part of the reason the check engine light is on. If that doesn't work, I suppose I'll make an appointment for it to be serviced. Last time it did this, it was totally the gas cap, so I have hopes.
And now, off to put on pants and have some more coffee. I hope everyone has an amazing Saturday!
