Jess kindly got up this morning, so I got to sleep in late. It was lovely and I'm grateful for the extra 2 hours. I have had my first cup of coffee and am sitting here trying to focus while Dad rambles about when he worked at Sears. That is one of his favorite topics for stories, along with when he was in the army.
Last night, it was about the pets he had who either "ran away" or had to be put to sleep. That was a fun one that served to make me dislike his family even more. I'm sure they were just a product of their time, but damn, they were assholes.
Yesterday, I did two whole outings. First, to Costco, where I spent way more money than I meant to, but I now have like 14 meals out of it. It doesn't feel like a ton when you're putting something in your cart here and there, but then you get it home and it takes three trips to bring it all in. Also, the breaking down is always fun. We're a well eating family, but even we don't need six pounds of meat in one sitting. I also picked up a box of freezer bags, so I was able to pack everything and we're now good for dinners for a while. The second was just up to get a couple of prescriptions, nothing big.
Last night, we had steak, which I'd been craving. Their meat is much more tender than Walmart's, I have to say. Also, less expensive.
Today, I have nothing planned. Probably some prepping for the Strahd game tonight, but aside from that, not much of anything. This of course means I will probably be bored, but oh well.
Got a text from a friend last night that IKEA has reposted the position I applied for, but with additional qualifications that I don't meet. So I guess that's that. I'm deeply annoyed, but resigned. It was a long shot anyway.
Okay, time for me to get more coffee and maybe, just maybe pants. Have a wonderful Friday!
