It's Monday again! Today is expected to be a long, boring day, as it's unlikely the markets will come in until later in the day, so I'll probably have not a whole lot to do. Fortunately, I just started the third book of a series, so I'll have "Black Truth, White Lies" to work on. Still working on Hailey Edwards back catalog on Kindle Unlimited, so even if I finish it, I've still got the Potentate of Atlanta books, so I should be covered for the day.

It's kind of fucked up that I'm basically being paid to read, but there really is no other work. All the groups in our department are up to date on their work, so I sit. Especially now that one page of our report may be 5 entries, it's just not that much to do.

Yesterday, I called off around 11, and Jess and I did errands and relaxed until game time. I have no regrets. We got the cat food and his calorie supplement, even if it meant going to two separate pet stores.

Today, nothing scheduled, so we will probably go to bed early.

Last night's game went well, and the players requested another game! One had to drop out due to schedule. (I'm not sure that our play style just didn't mesh with her expectations. Most of the group is part of both my D&D groups and my Monster of the Week group, so we have a certain chaotic energy and shorthand that might be difficult to get used to.) It happens, and I'm cool with it no matter the cause. Every game doesn't work for everyone.

I have a certain, fairly laid back style. I'm there to give the scenario and throw obstacles in my players' paths, what they do with it is entirely up to them, and we'll roll from there. I'm willing to ignore the rules to a certain degree in favor of the Rule of Cool. If the players come up with a bonkers, but inventive plan that doesn't exactly fit the system, I'm going to let it play out and see where it goes. Sometimes the dice are on their side, sometimes not so much. What I'm saying is that I can be an acquired taste?

Next up will be next weekend, when we'll have three straight days of games. By the end of it, my voice will be shot, but it'll be a lot of fun! I'm curious to see what the players in the Frostmaiden game do next. They're slowly running out of side quests. The endgame is almost as long as the module up til this point, so they've got plenty of module to go!

Okay, time to get some more coffee and get myself together for work. I've already put on pants, ew. Have the best Monday you can have!
