Monster of the Week day! My chaos goblins will be up for today's adventure. I think I have an interesting mystery lined up for them. It'll be interesting as always to see which direction they take it. As long as everyone has fun, that's all that matters to me.

Last night's D&D game was predictably bonkers. They went right where I wasn't planning, and thus may have gotten into an encounter with a frost giant skeleton they may not be quite ready for. We shall see. They were their normal murder muppety selves, and managed to kill and eat a harpy. Well, at least one of the party ate the harpy. It had already been partially cooked by fire magic, so it tasted like chicken? Then, it was onto the caves, where they found and bested a Sea Hag. The problem with a party so large is that the creatures only deal damage to one member at a time, so the fight tends to go rather lopsided. I believe that the next encounter, I need multiple enemies, so that the characters can be properly engaged.

I slept like a log, as per usual after a game. I think it's because I'm naturally more of an introvert, so when I extrovert, after I'm done, I'm tired. It's totally worth it, though. I love running the games. As I've said before, it's good for my mental health to have something to look forward to, especially with the dumpster fire the news currently is.

I'm terrified of the Inauguration. I get the whole "do it in the open and show we're not afraid of the terrorists," but it scares the hell out of me. I'd much prefer that it be done in an undisclosed site and broadcast. I know they're talking about basically locking down that part of DC, but it still worries me. I felt this way to a lesser extent when Obama took the oath of office, because I was convinced that white supremacists would want to block a Black man from being president.

I probably won't relax for a little while after the swearing in, event though I know Biden will have the best possible security.

Also worrying is that apparently there will be armed demonstrations in all fifty capitols. Since our governor has been pretty vocal about wanting Cheeto out of office, I have some concerns.

Nothing to do but wait, I guess. I never really wanted to be part of historical times, but I guess I don't get to make that choice. It's annoying, really.
