Indian week continued last night with Chana Masala. It was pretty tasty, but not as perfect as the Aloo Gobi. I still had two bowls, and enjoyed it very much. Garam Masala spice seems to be much more versatile than I had ever imagined. We may need to get more if we stay on the Indian food train. Tonight, either Saag Aloo or Saag Paneer or Tikka Masala. Either way, I need to run up to the store to get some ingredients.
our new ricemaker turned out to be not particularly non-stick, so it's soaking. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it clean for tonight.
Last night, I was so tired, I was getting irrationally angry about everything. Cat and dog nearly getting into it, angry and frustrated. Dad being a pain about bedtime, angry and frustrated. He only does this shit to me. Shelly doesn't have to put up with his "funny" whining about not wanting to go to bed. I know I was a little short with him, which I feel bad about, but for fuck's sake. He can't get undressed on his own, and the rest of us have to get up at 5am and 6:30am. I am aware that 9pm is an early bedtime. However, it's what works for Shelly, Jess and me.
By the time I got to bed, I was so keyed up that it took me forever to fall asleep. The cat was thankfully absent, so once I dozed off, I slept pretty well. Had he come in, I think I would have cried. As it was, I was having a racing heart rate, and just anxious as balls. It was less than fun.
Dad has a televisit with his PCP, so he can get his pain pills, so I had to take half a day off. I'm tired of always being the one who has to deal with doctor visits, but that seems to be my lot. I wish Shelly would tell me ahead of time when he's out of meds, so I can get an appt on a Friday and not take off time, but no, she tells me on Sunday "he'll need pills by Thursday."
Sorry I'm full of bitching today.
I got to meet my new managers virtually yesterday. They seem nice enough. They're in Staten Island, and they manage the team who does the NY markets up there as well. I guess it doesn't matter much, since we're all working from home where our managers are. They're very laid back, which will probably work well for my team.
