Awhile ago, we'd gotten an egg cooker on Amazon. It languished for a while, as many gadgets do,but in a desperate scramble (pun not intended.) for protein to ingest, I pulled it out and tried it. And you know, damned if it didn't work perfectly. For someone who cannot quite pull off hardboiled eggs on a stove (they're either rubber and impossible to peel or soft boiled), it was a little bit miraculous. Lovely just hardboiled eggs that the shell slips off of with barely a touch. No mangled eggs! No yolks with that green tinged outside that says "You cooked me way too long!" It doesn't take much to make me happy. The funny thing is that my sister was also entranced. She stopped to get more eggs, and celery to make egg salad after having two perfect eggs for lunch.

For me, it's a good, low carb, high protein snack that makes my diabetic self happy. Jess hates eggs, so she is mostly amused at our rhapsodizing.

Finished my Discord training for [community profile] con_txt. There's still time to join if you're interested. So far, there's a little over 100 people signed up, and some awesome panels. If you're looking for a day of fun fandom interaction that doesn't require leaving your house, it's worth a look.

Things are pretty boring right now, I suppose, thus the egg excitement. I'm trying to post daily, if only to get my brain back into the habit of writing something every day. Sometimes, especially towards the end of the day, it feels like I've used my allotment of words. Then, any email replies will be short and to the point. I feel like I'm only able to reply to specific statements, and I don't have any social nicety left.
