Sometimes I miss not working on the weekend. Not often, because I like my job, but once in a while, when I get to Sunday morning, I get into "I don't want to do the work today" mode. But overall, it's okay.
It would be nice if my asshole of a body would let me sleep past 7am, but that's obviously not going to happen. Friday, Jess normally gets up, and lets me sleep in on the first of my two days off. It hasn't been happening lately. I'm awake, and I don't see any reason for both of us to be upright, when they could sleep in. Yesterday, I forced myself to stay in bed until 8, even though I was awake at 6:30.
I've been on the hunt for a cute skirt. Thought I'd found one at Torrid, but it turned out to be WAY too big. Like, my ass couldn't even keep it up version of too big. I ordered a plain knee length pencil skirt from Catherines, but of course, I found the perfect flippy skater skirt right afterwards. Downside, it's from here at Yours Clothing, which is a plus size store in the UK. They ship to the US, but it wouldn't be fast enough for the theoretical interview. So, I'll just hope that Catherine's shipping isn't too slow. (I love that skirt, though.)
Watched The Old Guard yesterday. I really enjoyed it. As I said on Twitter, the tropes seem to be made for me. Found family, check. Queer representation, check. Diverse cast, check. Badass women, check. It was directed by a Black woman, which I appreciate. As one of it's stars, Chiwetel Ejiofor, pointed out, it takes a distinctly relationship and character-based approach. The action scenes are wonderful, but they're plot and character driven instead of the plot being action driven with some vague character work thrown in between the explosions. Also, Charlize Theron wielding a battle axe. In other, related news, I am such a useless lesbian.
