As usual, I have gotten fuckall done this season. I just have not had the spoons to do much of anything. I got presents wrapped. That is the extent of my planning.
On the plus side this year thanks to a small inheritance from my uncle, we were able to get the plumbing fixed, so there’s no longer standing water in our basement. Down side, our power company wanted to come in and replace the meter, and because we were still working on getting shit dried out, they couldn’t do it, so they turned our gas off.
Now, it’s been one hoop after another to get it back on. Hopefully, they’ll do it soon, because space heaters are awesome and shit, but it’s been fucking cold around here.
I’m debating on a change of psych meds again. The Trintellx is still working to an extent, but not enough. I’m not asking for perfection, but I’d like my words back. I haven’t written a word in over a year, and I hate it. I also have limited spoons for plotty things. I can watch the Great British Bake Off until my brain falls out, but shows that require investment in a plot, I just can’t focus. Jess said it seems like I’m having trouble taking pleasure in things. I think that’s pretty accurate. I may wait til spring to do it, because winter can be difficult for me, and I don’t want withdrawal along with it.
Fortunately, I can usually invest in a movie, since it’s short term investment. On that note, we went and saw “Knives Out” over Thanksgiving. It was really entertaining, with a stellar cast. The overarching theme of how fucked these supposedly enlightened people are is well done, and on a shallow note, Chris Evans is really pretty, and is obviously having a great time playing the human equivalent of the herpes virus.
Next up, Star Wars. I would have liked to go on my birthday weekend, but we just didn’t have the cash, and by the time we did, it was sold out. At least the Cinemark Reserve Level was. I can’t be expected to sit with the common folks! (I have become such a snob about my movie viewing.)
No big plans for Christmas, just relaxing and enjoying a day off from work.
Blessed Yule, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza or just Happy Holidays, I hope you have a joyous season, and a better new year.
