It seems like it's been a while since I posted anything other than fic, so I thought I'd do a quickie update, with bonus ramblings about last night's SPN ep.

  • Jess and I both have managed to get the cough/cold virus going around over the last couple weeks. I started Monday of last week, she started Sunday of this week.

  • So far, she's just got the cold. I, of course, had to take that a step farther and got myself a lovely little pneumonia.

  • I don't feel that bad after four days on antibiotics, but I get out of breath and tire fairly quickly. Also, with the pneumonia breaking up, I'm coughing a lot.

  • Tomorrow, I'm doing the Coven Ostara ritual. Considering the above, this should be...interesting.

  • It is a cold and rainy day today. I want to curl back up in bed for another few hours. Sadly, I cannot.

Now, onto the Supernatural (and BSG)

I can admit it. Jess called that she was dead way before I did. I loved that it was from her perspective. And I loved that Dean was such an ass. Boy doesn't know how to handle dealing with non-violent ghosties, does he? I love that the progression of his character is such that he will try to deal with her...but that he still doesn't do a good job of it. I loved that Sam was all, "he didn't want to be evil!" Poor, poor Sammy.

I loved that even dressed down and without the makeup, Tricia Helfer is still a stone-cold babe. *drool* And a really kickass actress. It's been kind of beautiful watching her grow into it on BSG. When it started, her character (Cylon #6) was a little one-dimensional. She'd slink around and be strong and sexy, and that was pretty much it. But then, as time went on, she grew. And by the midpoint of Season 2, we introduced Gina the beaten and broken cylon #6. And Tricia acted the fuck out of it.

So yeah, I loved her character. I loved that at the end, her realizing that she was dead actually made me choke up. It was lovely, and wonderfully timed. And okay the burst of light was a little cheesy at the end, but then Sam saved it with his "Hope is kind of the point," speech. Oh, boys.
