Ah, Friday. It doesn't really mean all that much to me, I'm afraid, since I work on Saturdays, but it's still nice. I get off an hour earlier than I do other days, and I get to hurry home to my baby, so we can get some quality cuddle time in. With school and her 2nd job starting up, I won't get to spend as much time with her, which sucks, but it's only for one semester. With some luck, next semester she'll have a better schedule, and I'll see her more. Besides which, there's always the weekends, and the holiday breaks...like Monday!

It sounds like her teachers are going to be a kick, except for the one, who may or may not be a bitch. It sounded to me like she was trying to scare people out of her class, so she may improve as the time goes on. Either way, Jess'll do fine.

I took off early on Monday, and then took Tuesday off entirely, and I always have Wednesday off. It was nice. Tuesday, we went to the Fair for the annual corndog/fried dough/ turkey leg extravaganza. This year, we added in a new treat: Fried Oreos. They dip them in the fried dough batter and cook them. Topped with chocolate syrup and powdered sugar, it was a nice treat.

Walked around the fair a bit, enjoyed the sights and sounds. Petted some of the animals, and stopped by the Democratic party booth so that I could change my affiliation from Republican. (I was young and stupid, what can I say?) The people manning the booth got very excited, which was nice. So many of the volunteers have had the hope beaten out of them over time. Then, we went by Target and picked up the LOTR: TTT dvd and had great fun watching the special features disc.

All I have to say about that is "Oooh, his little face!" I'm so going to need a ton of tissues for RotK.

Turns out that our biannual Lab Review is coming up at the end of September, so it's time to fix all the things that I've slacked off on through the year. It's not as bad as it sounds, really, but it'll be a pain in the ass for a while. I know we do a good job in our lab, but they'll always find something to bitch about. Unfortunately, some of the stuff got damaged in our flood of a few months ago, so it'll mean a lot of recopying. Ew.

I'll probably get a start on that today, if the musi will shut up for five minutes and let me work on it. Tonight, I'm going to cuddle up and watch the VMAs that I taped last night with my baby. *nod*
