I'ma gonna end up smacking a bitch before lunchtime. Grrr. Fucking hate specialist doctors with their sense of entitlement. Your little hellion has ADD, maybe a learning disorder. Comparing that to the little ones with facial lacerations we send to you for emergency stitches to avoid leaving unsightly scars on them is not going to get you in faster. Actually, it's just going to piss me off. Sorry if we pulled you away from a fucking boob-job, you sanctimonious asshole. The answer's still the same, whether you ask at the beginning of the conversation, or after you've been trying to bully me for ten minutes! Now, go fuck off and die. *snarl*

We usually allow for about an hour for those appointments, which is more than most can do. It gives him time to do some IQ testing, as well as going over the risks and benefits of the handful of drugs he's willing to RX. If he feels it's clear-cut ADD, he'll do a two week trial of one of those meds. If not, he'll refer them to one of our psychs.

But yeah, it's basically a case where they've spent four years focusing on the other child, who is deaf, and now suddenly, it's an emergency that their child must be seen (mind you, only on the days and times that they're available--it's not that big an emergency to them that they have to shift anything around.)

*shakes head* damn. I am impressed that the doc can make hour-long appts though. That's pretty significant in an HMO world. Still, I think my IQ tests ran about 4 hours, but I suppose if you're looking at one thing specifically & not trying to catch anything else that might be there, you could do a quick-and-dirty version to pare down. Also, would you and Jess be interested in apartment sitting? I can have the neighbors check in on the place, but if you want it through Xmas, it's yours. I can leave the key with S & D even if you're not coming tomorrow night, or we could meet before I leave Weds (very early to beat traffic).

Well, we have the benefit of being a small office that doesn't accept any HMO's--only PPO's.

I meant to reply to your e-mail, but things have been insane at home with Jess' schoolwork. If I get five minutes on the computer at home, it's a miracle. We probably wouldn't be able to apartment sit full time, but we could certainly check in every so often, possibly spend a night here or there, if it would help any. With our schedules the way they are, the commute would probably be a little too much for us, I'm thinking, but thank you for thinking of us! (Believe me, if it weren't for that, we'd so be there!)

Don't worry about it then. I'll just ask my (very nice) neighbors to check in. Since I'm taking my laptop, and my tv's not worth having, I expect it won't be a big deal.
