Now that I'm not posting like an over-adrenalized chipmunk, I can give some of my impressions of the show.
First off, Hammett has got an ass of steel, I shit you not. You could bounce a quarter off that thing. Also, boy has seriously got a portrait hiding in his attic. He keeps getting hotter. It's annoying. Lars looked pretty good, very energetic, which was nice to see. He's looked a little tired in recent pics, so it was nice to see him bouncing like the little crack monkey he is. Rob is flat out adorable, and does a great job of filling some formidable shoes. He also seems to do a good job of holding his own position on the stage. Jason had a tendency to give ground when James infringed on his space, which, considering the crap he took, was very understandable. Rob holds his ground, which makes for some nice slashy moments. James is every bit the dork I fell for, and seems to be attacking the concerts with an unmitigated glee.
I've heard a couple complaints about his banter with the audience being a little too group therapy, and yeah, I can see their point, but it didn't really bother me. He still is every bit as aggressive when the song starts; he's just happier, and more playful with the audience between them. And the sex voice? Yeah. Still has it. Mmm...
We woke up the next day still deaf, and feeling like we'd been beaten with a chain, so it was a good show, and a good vacation.
Tomorrow, we go to Hershey for outlet shopping and fun at the park!
yay!

Date: 2004-10-21 11:50 am (UTC)*falls over* God, I adore James so much. I only ever saw him at Summer Sanitarium, but he was just so bouncy and happy to be onstage that it was enthralling. Robert's little frog stomp makes me so happy, I don't have the words for it.
