I am a completely psychologically normal individual and the part where I had, until I posted one of them yesterday, two active WIPs started in the last couple of weeks in which my blorbo loses his virginity to, in fact, the same person, under extremely fraught circumstances, is simply because I love joy.

Definitely nothing to do with VirginWan Weekend posts having filtered onto my Tumblr dash for weeks and inspired me to greater heights of appalling Obi-Wan/Anakin.

The one I finished is: i want to raise a city behind his teeth (for when the AO3 comes back to us). It’s identity porn, Petra stylée, set the day Anakin is knighted.

The one I am still working on is your classic Obi-Wan in a Time Loop trope, except he’s repeating RotS and he only gets one day to do it in.

Themes of the month
1. Comfort music, by which I mean mostly the Gallaghers. This felt like a rough month, and I listened to my big Noel playlist a lot, as well as my 2025 and “most listened” playlists. About every six months I listen to the latter and discover it has a lot of great songs on it. Who could have guessed!

2. Also in the comfort music vein, a lot of Lord Huron, mostly the new album, which has earned the extremely rare distinction of skipping the seasonal playlist phase and going straight into my year-round rotation.

3. Wuthering Heights by Charli XCX. Neeeew album! Short, and with some filler of the kind you get in an album for a movie, but still a few new songs I was into. I appreciate how she used the melodramatic vibes of the movie as an excuse to go OTT.

4. Lana del Rey. Inspired by her new single, I went back and listened to Norman Fucking Rockwell again, which I haven't listened all the way through since 2020.

Some of this is kind of bad tbh and is definitely her operating in the vein of Taylor's "But Daddy I Love Him," ie pissed at her fans for having opinions about her love life, but also: it's so delightfully weird. I'm into it.

2. Dying For You by Charlie XCX, my favorite of the new tracks on her WH album. Again: really took the theme of OTT melodrama to heart. <3

Work/life overall: Usually before a seasonal crunch starts at Dayjob I think to post something to the effect of "I'm about to be swamped, so while I'll probably/hopefully manage to keep up with reading posts, commenting will probably be mostly nonexistent, etc. etc.", and sometimes I feel a bit silly about it because I'm not as active a commenter as I'd like anyway and sometimes the crunch isn't that bad, and probably most people reading this already know that anyway...but I have some newer mutuals here now and I didn't think to post it, and friends, this crunch is CRUNCHY. Ohboy.

Media intake: LOL. (Okay, I did actually read a couple volumes of manga last night, and I did show ep. 1 of Heated Rivalry to

scruloose last weekend. But I think that's it.)

Weather: We did get lots of snow early in the week, but somehow yet again didn't lose power. No complaints!

Cats: Last week both of the blues had birthdays! Yona turned four on Tuesday and Sinha turned five yesterday. (It would be very convenient to have a pic of the two of them together that'd make a good icon, but the odds of that ever happening are not remotely good. Have an icon of baby!Yona.)

The world keeps getting shittier, but I finished a couple more cute needlepoint projects so I'm sharing to both brighten the day and show off. 🙂

A couple of weeks ago I finished and posed a key fob with was a black cat on a lavendar back ground. This week I finished the same pattern, but made the cats pink and set them on a darker pink background.

Looking at them (as well as at the photos) I do like the black cats on the lavender background better, but the pink are cute too.

I also finished a different key fob, with a different design. Large photo under cut.

The photo came out crooked, lol. The cherries are a very pretty design though, so I put that on the bag I carry around. The cat fobs are on my key ring. 🙂

Shane sighed, pinched the bridge of his nose, and turned away from the glass before he could be tempted to touch his neckcloth again. The small sword hanging at his side slapped against his thigh at the sudden movement, and Shane sighed again.

The court sword had belonged to his grandfather and was an elegant little thing, with its faceted and burnished hilt, and swirl of gold along the narrow blade, but a world away from the substantial and trusty sabre that Shane had carried into battle with him not so very long ago. He wondered if the sword had seen action - gentlemen had dueled with just such weapons in his grandfather's day - but even if it had, he could not view it as anything but a beautiful, gilded toy. It was at one with the rest of his get-up this morning, formal court dress in strict adherence to the regulations laid down by the Lord Chamberlain. While his court suit had a certain military style to it, with its long-tailed blue coat and high standing collar, no true officer's uniform had ever been so lavishly embroidered, or paired with old-fashioned knee breeches of velvet, silk stockings and shiny-buckled shoes.

He felt ridiculous.

📽️ The Old Guard 2 felt more like a generic action movie than its predecessor. Don't get me wrong! I love my action movies, generic or not. And the aforementioned action was certainly slicker and more visually appealing than the first movie. But there were too many moments where the plot points or dialogue choices took me out of the moment. This was in a weird spot between, "Not dumb enough for me to enjoy this mindlessly," and "What the hell are they doing?" All that said, I'd still watch a third installment to see Uma Thurman and Charlize Theron fighting to the death 😆

📚 Something about Makoto (the top/alpha) from Omega no Mukotori lit up all my neurons in the best way 👀 I guess I just have a soft spot for dark-haired burly dudes. I also very much enjoyed the fact that Yoshiharu (the bottom/omega) was the much more aggressive character and did most of the pursuing. I will gladly consume A/B/O content, even the non-traditional stuff.
