Whoo, I'm a sleepy girl today! My sister had to work late last night, so I ended up getting into bed at nearly 10, which is very late for me. As a result, I'm a wee bit sleepy this morning. I shall deal, but it's going to be an early night tonight for sure.

Yesterday was an annoying day. The dude on Tuesday told me they'd get the doors on our new laundry closet tomorrow and they'd be done. Cue yesterday, where no one ever fucking showed up. I sat in the fucking bedroom for nine hours for no one to even knock, much less come in and do anything. SO, I'll be stuck in there another day, hoping they come.

If they don't, I'm going to be hella peeved. More than I am now. And I'm a bit peeved.

We ran the washer and drier last night. They both were a bit louder than expected, but worked very well. It's a slightly smaller unit, but I think it'll fit our comforter in a pinch. IF they happen to come today and finsh early, I might make up another load and wash that, too. It's sad how happy I am about this, but it was so much easier to do.

I got one of my dresses, which is very pretty. It's this one. I ordered a size 28, thinking that bridal sizes are a little small, but it's a bit big. Definitely taking it to be altered. Doesn't need a ton of it, mostly because I'm short, and my "midi" dress is almost down to my ankles.

It looks like the main gown is coming tomorrow. I was hoping for today, but apparently the postal system dislikes me and wants me to be unhappy.

Tomorrow, it looks like I have a few things coming. First off, t-shirts. We had to retire a few shirts because of stains, so I think I've only got like two or three short sleeve shirts. I also have tennis shoes, because much as I love the hiking boots, they're a pain to put on.

I think the camera lens will be coming today, to give me a bit of zoom. This camera shop refurbishes them, and they had it for under $160, which is pretty cheap.

Beyond that, nothing much going on. I am 100% a boring human being. And now, I shall boringly shower. Everyone have an perfect Thursday!
It's Wednesday! I don't want to go to work, but alas, I must. I've been supremely unmotivated this week. I could have used a little more nap time over the weekend apparently. Either that or having the workers here for 1 1/2 weeks is wearing on me. Today, supposedly, they'll be done. They're going to slap doors on our little closet, and we will be finished. I appreciate that I could do my job in my sister's room, but it's much darker and the desk is a little wobbly and it's just a different position for my hands. My wrist has been aching.

Yesterday, I ended up hopping off work at noon and just relaxing with the dog for a bit. Then I went to the farmers market and the pharmacy to pick up meds for Jess and me. It helped, but I'm still feeling unmotivated this morning.

Tonight, I will try out our new washer and dryer. The maintenence ran it before they left, so it works fine.

Jess is out of the binder! Technically today would be 4 weeks, but the binder was really starting to bruise their ribs, so they ditched it a day early. It's looking reqally good. I don't think they're going to have a very big scar at all. More importantly, they look exactly how Jess wanted.

Saturday, we're going to have them measured for a suit. We're thinking maybe a nice charcoal suit. It should look good with my dress, and sharp for other events. I'm excited for it!

Some of my stuff is coming today. The second dress I got for "gala" night is coming today, and possibly my vow renewal dress on Friday.

Okay, on that note, it's time to hop off and get myself together. Everyone have an outsanding Wednesday!
It's another hot day here in MD. Supposed to drop with some rain this evening, and then tomorrow will be in the 60's. C'mon fall! I hate hot weather. I don't enjoy sweating. Of course, I'll have to use my inhaler more often in winter, because cold air fucks me up, but fall should be okay.

Yesterday was very boring. The dog was not thrilled about going in the bedroom, but in the end he was a good agreeable boy. He slept the majority of the day while the painters were here and then the workers came in and stacked our washer and dryer. They're very nice GE units, so they should hold for awhile.

We haven't used it yet, but I plan to do towels and maybe some clothes tonight. I may need a small stepstool to get clothes out of the dryer, but that's okay. If I had another few inches, I'd be fine, but alas, I am short.

I put in a purchase for a pair of tennis shoes. I've been wearing my hiking boots when I go out, and that's fine, but I'd also like a pair of sneakers, too. Also, since it was buy one get one, I got the slides that I wanted for the cruise, and also for our pool next year. They should come on Friday, according to the UPS label.

I did an adult thing! Sunday, I took my car over for tires and an oil change. Yesterday, I ubered over and picked it up. My car was happy with me. No low tire pressure, or "oh your oil change is WAY overdue" messages on my dash. I appreciate that. I also switched my auto insurance to AAA. I'd wanted to do it 6months ago, but I had a missed payment with Geico, so they wouoldn't take me. Now that I've had 6mo of payment, I can switch. It's slightly more, but that's okay, it's much better coverage. See, adulty things!

Once I got back, I cooked dinner, which was Momofuku's Soy and Scallion noodles and Lobster tail. They went really well together. I can't do the lobster all the time, but once in a while I can splurge.

Today should be my last day sitting in my sister's room. That'll be nice. I would very much like to get back to my desk and chair. Hopefully, they come and set up our shelves and our doors quickly and we'll be good to go. I'm inordinately excited about the shelves. I am very easily excited.

And on that note, I'm going to hop off and take this trash to the dumpster. Everyone have a wonderful Tuesday!
It's Monday and I'm sleepy. I had a little bit of trouble getting to sleep last night. Thankfully, the drugs kicked in quickly, and off I went. The Curio Sleep tablets are baller. Even when I'm somewhat restless and activated, they take me down like a hammer to the head. It's nice.

I will wake up quickly with application of coffee and Vyyvanse. Today, the painters are coming to paint our new little closet. Then, maybe as soon as tomorrow we could have our in-unit washer and dryer! I did do some laundry yesterday, since I still had $8 on my account and I was low on underwear.

I actually did a lot yesterday. I emptied the dishwasher, loaded and ran it, plus took my sister to her hair appointment, got gas, picked her up and went to the bakery, then went home and did laundry, then it was off to the Mr. Tire so they can do an oil change and give me new tires today.

Things what I did not do, clean the bathroom or vacuum. Today, I will take out the trash, and empty the dishwasher and make dinner. The trash has to wait, because the bins are full. Fortunately they get emptied on Monday, so I can take them out tonight.

The bakery had lovely snacks, so that was lovely.

We actually ended up getting burgers last night. They were pretty meh. Tonight shall be lobster with Soy garlic noodles.

Hopefully the painters will be done early so that I can open my door. I really want this to be done by tomorrow. That would be most excellent.

And on that note, I shall go forth and get my ass moving. Everyone have an amazing Monday!
It's Sunday, and I seem to have a cough. Not a bad one, and it may just be allergies, but I cancelled my plans for the day just to be on the safe side, and will spend it relaxing.

Yesterday was a bit much. Yoda passed his initial interview, but as the day wore on, he got tired, and started getting grumpy and barking in a way that the staff deemed "aggressive." They said that they didn't feel like camp was going to be a good fit for him. Afterwards, he was a bit out of sorts. So you know, I felt like the worst pet parent of all time twice over. We're going to look into someone who can come stay in the house to take care of he and Boodle or a senior pet camp. As Jess said, the problem seemed to be that because he's a senior dog, he got tired of being messed with and threw a tantrum. Whatever, we'll work it out. We're going to Alaska, and the dog will have to get with the program. So, yknow, my dog flunked out of daycare.

After we dropped him off, we went to grab lunch. We'd planned on doing hot pot, but the parking situation was dire. I said I'd vulture, but as we were going around the block, there was a spot right in front of the Sichuan Bistro, so we went there. Jess got spicy pork ribs, and I got peking duck, and we split the soup dumplings.

I don't think I'd ever get carry out again--eating there was so good. The soup dumplings were fresh and delicious, and the Peking duck came in the cutest little stand. It was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh, and it came with an enormous bowl of duck soup, which is now in my fridge. I may have some later.

Once I got the word to pick up the dog, I went and fetched him and made sure he knew we weren't angry at him.

I took a little nap, and then had dinner and walked him and he seemed to perk up.

As I said to Jess, the whole experience has left me feeling a little bit bruised. The worry of how it would go, followed by the hope when he passed his interview, followed by "no, he failed." just left my feelings a little sad and sore.

But we shall figure it out.

On that note, I think I shall go forth and shower, see if it helps this annoying tickle in my throat.

Everyone have a stupendous Sunday!
It's Saturday! Yesterday, thankfully went very easy and smooth. The doggo slept while I worked until the workers left, then he transferred out to the sofa and snuggled with Jess. It was very sweet.

Once that was done, I cooked dinner (I put sauce on salmon and baked it and served it with salad, whoo.) Then took out the trash and went to Petco to get the dog a new tag. The daycare requires a quick release collar with tag with his name on it. So now he has that. He looks very fancy in is dark storm blue collar. It sets off really well against his fur.

First, I have work til 12, then I need to take Yoda for his appointment. I am really anxious about it. I have no clue how he'll do with dogs. He just can be a lot. I think he'd like to make friends, but I don't know if he knows how. I'm sorry I didn't just say I'd drop him off. The thought of having to watch the first half hour is stressing me out.

After that, we'll probably grab lunch and then pick him up a few hours later. The daycare's rule is that he has to stay for at least 3 hours to get a good trial. Hopefully, he does well.

Tomorrow, I'm supposed to go out to lunch with the friend frim 911. While I want to see her, I also would love a day to do nothing. We shall see.

Debating on the merits of taking a nice hot shower when I finish typing. I could probably use one, and I don't want to stink out the doggy daycare.

All in all, though I don't have a ton of chores that I need to do, so I should get some down time. I will need to fill the dishwasher, and probably take out more trash. (Lord, we make a lot of trash.).

I had mentioned that we were considering it, and after debate, we decided to book that cruise from Iceland to Amsterdam. It's not the one we were first looking at, but that's okay. We found one that should be good for us. That shall commence May 29th of 2027.

I figure we'll go early, spend a few days in Reykjavík, and then board the ship. We're sailing around Iceland, then down to Scotland, then onto Amsterdam. We'll probably spend a couple of days in Amsterdam, then head home. Probably like 12 days, total.

I'm very much looking forward to it, just like Alaska. We go next week to get our photos and passport appointment done. I figure if I'm going to the trouble of getting it, I should use it.

I haven't been out of the country in like 30 years, so this should be an adjustment.

Okay, time to go forth and grab that shower. Everyone have an amazing Saturday!
It's Friday! They're almost done the project. The dude said he'd be here today, then the painters come Monday. Tues or Wed we should have a washer and dryer! They've been absolute sweethearts. They discovered that Jess recently had surgery, so they have been bringing in heavy packages, and generally being awesome, while getting the work done super fast.

Yesterday was a bit of a cluserfuck. I got ready and hauled all my shit to the coworking office. For four hours, things went great. Enormous monitor, very nice chair, very quiet and private. Then, just after noon, the internet went down. I waited a few minutes, but it didn't come back up. Poked my head out, and it turns out that the power went off on half the building, and it was going to be a couple of hours to get it back up. So, I closed down and went to head back home, only to find that the elevator is in the half of the building that has no power. On the fifth floor.

Knowing that I only have two hours to get back online before I have to start using PTO, I braved the stairs. It was not pleasant. I had my bag with my computer and accouterments, and the dishes from lunch. I would not like to do it again.

I got home, and sat for a while, until the worker went outside to get supplies, then I squeezed into my sister's room and got set up again. Fortunately, it seems like they're done with most of the loud stuff, so it wasn't bad.

I think today I'm going to just stay home and do my job here. I'll have to move my shit tomorrow to my normal desk, since I'm working on Saturday, but that's okay.

Tonight, I have my monthly psych appt. We're going to have to discuss changing my ADHD meds, because the insurance is not going to cover them any more. So, farewell Vyyvanse, hello Azstarys.

Tomorrow, we take Yoda for his interview with Camp Bow Wow. This should be interesting. Hopefully, he does well, and we can start depositing him in day care for a few hours here and there, working up to overnights. I am stressing more about this than I was about the work they're doing.

My sister has been incredibly interactive today, and I need a drink. I shall persevere. At least I had my normal half hour of peace and quiet. Okay, everyone have an excellent Friday!
It's Thursday, and I am trying to get myself together to try going in work for a change. Or at least to this coworking office that has private offices. I figure I'll give it a try today and maybe tomorrow, and see where we're at after that. The closet they made looks good. I think they've gotten pretty much everything done but painting and putting in the machines. It sure looks almost done. I'm hoping the 2 weeks was a bit of an exaggeration on how long it would take.

Yesterday was busy, yet not terrible. I got up at 4:30am, and we left for Sibley at 5:40am. We got there super early, but the coffee shop was open, so we grabbed a coffee and sat for a bit, then went up for Jess' appointment. The drains were seriously freaky coming out. You could see the tube moving under the skin as the PA pulled. Very Alien. Jess reported that it hurt like hell coming out, but they were very pleased with the result. No more drains! They have the okay to raise their little t-rex arms above their head, so my days of being needed to reach the microwave are fading.

Then we stopped for breakfast at La Madeline. If you have one of these near you, they currently have a Parisien Hot Coccoa with chantily cream. Fuck, it is good. I highly recommend.

Once we got home, we kind of relaxed to the sounds of hammering and screwing until they were done and it was time to take the doggo to his vet appt.

Diagnoses on pupper: allergies, with a skin infection where he's scratched them. Antibiotics and an allergy shot called Cytopoint. He was a little punky last night from the shot, but he's okay. They're waiting til spring to repeat his labwork to see if his liver enzymes are still wonky.

I went to bed early, knowing that I need to put some food into containers to take them for lunch. I still didn't really want to get up at 5 am. We'll see if this set up works any better than Shelly's room. Honestly, as long as it doesn't fuck with my wrist, I'll be good.

Okay, time to go forth and grab a shower, and make food, and all that good stuff. Everyone have an outstanding Thursday!
It's drain day, and it is hella early. They're sneaking Jess in before their day starts to get their drains out, so the appt is 8:30am. Since depending on what time it is, the directions can be anywhere from between 1.5-2.5 hours, we're leaving at 5:45. Hopefully, that early we can miss some of the morning traffic.

We have a closet for the washer and dryer, and our light is in the process of being moved down a few feet, so it can still be over the table. The workmen have been very busy. Dunno what the focus will be today. We shall see! They're mostly coming at 8 and knocking off about 2:30, so at least they're not here full time.

Tomorrow, I need to decide whether I want to book a follow up cruise before we even do the first. This one goes from Iceland to Rotterdam, with stops along the Icelandic and Scottish coast. The other option is to just go somewhere. I will think on it.

We did decide that we're going on vacation for a 2 nighter in January. We were going to go before, but we've got games most weekends til December, and with the holidays, the hotels are SUPER pricey. Like 300% more expensive. It's kind of a shame--I really want to run away for a few days, but we just can't.

We decided against going to see Ghost again. As [personal profile] coyotegestalt pointed out, the weather would be dicey for the drive. Late January in Toronto could have some snow and ice. So, instead, we'll do a mini vacation in January. We're just going to go to Philly, see friends and nap a lot.

Tomorrow, I think I'm going to go try the office to work in, and see how that goes. Then, on Saturday, I'll work from my normal spot, and then we'll contemplate week 2. I know when they get to the plumbing, it's going to be SUPER loud, so I'd like to not be here for it, as just the creation of the closet strained my ability to hear patients.

Hopefully, the rest of it won't be that bad.

Okay, time for me to consider getting dressed and getting myself together. Everyone have a stellar Wednesday!
Another fun day of apartment improvements. Yoda was really good for most of the day, so I can't complain about that. I was definitely a bit slower, but I still cleared 40 calls, so I overachieved.

The workers got here promptly at 8:30 and began work. It was very loud, and I'm considering whether I want to rent an office for a few days until they're done. The dog did great, except when the fire alarm went off from the dust from the drilling. By the end of the day, we had a lovely closet made that will hold the washer and dryer. Tomorrow may begin the electrical work or plumbing, but we'll see!

I'm hoping the plumbing will be on Wednesday. I'm off to make another trek to Sibley. At least this time it's for a good reason. Jess is finally getting their drains out! Another step towards the finish line! Three weeks until they're cleared for normal activity.

After work, I drove up to the office that I may rent. It's right in the area, and I would be fine working there for a few days. At worst, it would be 7 work days. We'll see.

In news that shall kill my pocket book, Ghost is doing a second leg of their Skeletour. Tickets go on sale on Friday. They're coming nowhere near here, but we're talking about doing a road trip. The only concern is that the concert is in late January, so weather could be a bugger. But we'll see! Possible venues include Mohegan Sun, CT and Toronto. CT is 5 hours, and Toronto is 8. So we're talking a significant investment of time to get to and fro.

On one hand, I really loved the concert, but on the other, do I really want to drive 8 hours? On the other, I've always wanted to see Toronto. On the other, I kind of need my PTO for Alaska. I will have to do some more computing. Looks like CT is in the middle of the week, so I'd need 4 days off. But Toronto is on a Saturday, so I could get away with one day off. Leave Thursday after work and drive for 4-5 hours, then finish it up on Friday, have all day on Friday and Saturday, and then leave Sunday and drive right through.

Okay, time to go back to cleaning out the fridge. Fun, fun! Everyone have an amazing Tuesday!
I'm not looking forward to the next two weeks, y'all. Today starts the apartment's project of getting us a new washer and dryer. This is going to require plumbing and duct work, and I work from home, so it is going to suck. I actually looked into a temporary office. There's a coworking place near here that has some private offices, so I have options. Or I can go into the office. That is also a possibility. That would be considerably further away, yet free.

Sunday was a bit of a wash. We had game, which was, as always, a lot of fun. My cleric is desperately trying to prevent our paladin and monk from going down. It's not going well. Aside from that, I went and got groceries and weed pills, and took three bags of trash out. Oh, and made dinner. Doesn't feel like much, especially since there are already three more bags to go out this morning.

I need to be rich enough that I can hire someone to take out the trash and scrape the cat's litter box. And to clean out my fridge. That's my plan for tonight. Clean out the fridge and take the detrius directly to the dumpster. I was going to do it yesterday, but the dumpster was so full that I'd have to loft it over the top, and that sounded like a plan for disaster.

This morning, I need to do the trash, and I need to take Yoda for a walk. Normally he goes at lunch, but there's going to be people here, so that's not happening.

I just got the computer mock up of my ring. They sent it for my approval. It's so pretty! The prongs are a little prominent, so I did ask them to trim those down, but aside from that, it's perfect. I can't wait to see what it looks like!

Okay, I should get myself together. This garbage isn't going to take out itself.

Everyone have a wonderful Monday!
Today's subject brought to you by this mashup.

It's Sunday and the weekend is half over. I have a lot of shit to get done today. I've got at leasst four, maybe more garbage bags to take out, I have to clean the fridge, which will engender more garbage bags. I really don't feel like doing any of it, but I shall.

At some point this week, Jess' drains need to come out, but the one is still draining a bit of fluid. Soon, though. Hopefully, the left one settles down soon. I'm not looking forward to the drive to Sibley, but I want them to be drain free, so it's all good.

The dog is having some major allergies, just taking his paws and rubbing around his eyes raw, so he's going to have a vet visit on Wednesday. I'm going to ask them to draw his labs, so we can see how his liver enzyme is, and if we need to do more testing for Cushing's disease. My thought is that he may, and I don't know what we'll do then. They only tend to have a 2-3 year life span after diagnosis. If he starts having problems, we'll have to make decisions that I don't feel my sister is capable of making rationally.

Tomorrow, it's back to work. Yesterday's work went fine. I took calls, tried to fill appointments. I've got a cardiac MRI at Bethesda to fill tomorrow, so that'll be fun.

I know I've got a ton to do today, but after our morning game, I may take a little nap. (after I take the dog out for a walk.)

Okay, time for me to get myself together for game. Everyone have an amazing Sunday!
It's Saturday! And it's a work Saturday, so I've got that to do. My weekend went from having some games to play and not much else to "well, that's a lot to get done." We got a message from the apartment, saying that we've been chosen to be upgraded to an in-unit washer and dryer. While this is very nice, and I'm very excited about it, I'm also dreading it. The wall in the dining room that they're using is currently where the boxes live, so that needs to go. They also need to get in the kitchen, so that's me moving into my sister's room to work. I also need to clean the kitchen and our room, since one of them will need to host the dryer vent. It's going to be a busy weekend.

Yesterday was not horribly busy. I did a lot of calling people and filling slots. I did a damn fine job at it, too. Got in like seven different people for STAT studies. The secret truth of our "wait list." If someone doesn't cancel, we can't get you in sooner. We don't have slots held just for patients who need immediate appointments. We can build in a few of those, but those get taken quickly. And some spots are to filled up for us to hold them. My Cardiac MRIs and CTs are booked out to January in some cases. And I've got nothing to offer, but "I'll keep an eye out for cancellations."

We got the letter about the new appliances in the afternoon. So I immediately ordered dinner, and started working on the shelves we had gotten and not put together yet. It took me about an hour doing it solo, and now we have shelves to put shit on!

Okay, time for me to go forth and do some work. Maybe I'll put together a chair or two so that we won't have that box in the way. Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!
IT's Friday! I'm actually working tomorrow, so it's not that big of a deal, but Fridays are still nice. I'm kind of sorry that I'm scheduled for tomorrow and next week, but that's okay. I shall deal.

Jess' drains are still being difficult, so we're not driving to DC today. They're just stubbornly refusing to get below a 25ml output for 24 hours, so they said to just call when they do, and they'll work Jess in. We adjusted the compression vest a bit, and we'll see if that helps. The actual site looks really good. Everything seems to be healing well, and the incision site doesn't look bad at all. Dr. Chen really did some awesome work. I can't wait for the tape to fall off, so we can get a good look.

I got an email from the people doing my ring. They're getting ready to mock it up in the CAD, and then they'll send the proof to me to approve, and then it'll go into production. It's going to take about 4-6 weeks to arrive, same as my dress. I had a pendant made for me, but that was years ago.

As per my usual, I've done a ton of research about the vow renewal. It looks nice, though. People who have done it seem very happy with the service. Our first handfasting was in our friend's attic, which doubled as the ritual room for our coven. There was maybe a dozen people there, none of whom I'm in regular contact with now. Our first marriage was done as a quickie in a now closed Irish restaurant with [personal profile] poisontaster signing our official certificate. Both were special in their own way, but I'm also looking forward to a vow renewal with Holland America.

It'll be the first time I've worn a full length gown. Our first wedding, I wore a denim dress, and the second, I wore jeans and a nice shirt. This one is going to be a lot more...catered. We'll have the passed appetizers, and staff waiting on us, and a cake!

I think it'll be very cool, and hopefully meaningful.

Yesterday, I was productive. I both took out trash and did laundry and washed Jess hair as a bonus. I still have a load of laundry to do this weekend, but that's not too bad.

Tonight, we have game which the lovely [personal profile] poisontaster is running. Then tomorrow I have a game, and Sunday i have a morning game that [personal profile] coyotegestalt is running and I think that's it for the weekend.

Sunday, I might have a quiet day. But we'll see.

Okay, I'm going to go get a nice hot shower and get ready for the day. Everyone have a most excellent Friday!
Thursday already! The week has been going fast. It feels like this should be Wednesday. Alas.

I'm a bit tired this morning, though I'm not sure why. I slept pretty well overall. I only woke up once, but I went right back to sleep.

I found a ring for our vow renewal! It's going to take at least a month to get here, as they make the rings individually. It's a very simple solitaire ring, but instead of a diamond, I went for moissanite, which I think is prettier than diamonds. Also, way less expensive, and not horribly shitty. I really love the design! I'm going to be waiting with bated breath to see how it looks.

Today, I shall finish the chores I didn't do yesterday, and then wash clothes and help Jess wash their hair.

I was really hurting last night, and I wasn't able to take Yoda on his long walk. I felt like the asshole. of all assholes and the *worst* pet momma ever.

Tomorrow, we may have a trip to DC to get Jess' drains out, or we may not. Depends on how much out put it has. It needs to be under 25mls. So far, we haven't gotten quite down to that level. I think Jess will reach out to the PA to see if we need to move the appointment.

My sister is very talky this morning, and I want to rip my ears off. Dunno why she's annoying me thie morning, but wow.

Okay, not much of substance to report today. Everyone have an awesome day!
It's Wednesday! I actually slept last night, so that was nice. I actually feel mostly human this morning! Got nothing planned outside of work today except the chores I put off from yesterday. I need to make some eggs, take out the trash, and wash the dishes.

The garbage is going to be a special challenge. The litter box one is heavy as hell, and I'm not looking forward to schlepping that down to the dumpster. I may put them in my car and pull down, we'll see.

I checked with Jess and they would like to get new rings for the renewal of vows, so that has sent me down a k-hole, and I've realized quickly that I'm a picky bitch when it comes to ring design8. I looked at anniversary bands, and hated them. The texture of having multiple stones agains my fingers sounded unpleasant. So instead, I'm thinking that I'll go for a solitaire stone and be happy. I don't want a diamond, but moissanite...that's another thing. Problem is, there's still expensive, especially if you get it from a reputable place that's going to give you some sparkle.

I don't know, might take a risk on Etsy. We'll see!

I'm very excited about the cruise in general, but the renewal of vows sounds good. The supreme court may invalidate our marriage, but we'll have this. (And full legality in MD--we passed gay marriage by popular vote in the 2012 election. Plus, it'll give us another anniversary to celebrate!

I'm curious how the package will shake out. I sent an email, just in case there's something I should be doing, but I haven't heard anything. Mind you, I sent it yesterday, so that might be a bit fast. The cruise is also over 200 days away, so no rush on it. Just my pathological need to plan everything down to the minute.

I've pretty much finished the plans for the actual cruise as far as excursions. Ketchican, we 're just going to walk around town and eat while BIL does his salmon fishing expedition. Juneau is for whale watching, and Skagway is for the train.

I want to plan more shit, but I shall stop while I'm ahead.

Now I have moved on to figuring out what I'd like to do for our day in Seattle and our day in Vancouver.

I know next to nothing about either city, but I'm learning. Sadly, since BIL will be with us, adventurous food is mostly out for either city. It'll have to wait til we're on the boat. Though it looks like if we go to Granville Market in Vancouver or Pike's Place in Seattle, we can get our own stuff, and meet up to eat.

Okay, going to go forth and get myself together. Everyone have an excellent Wednesday!
It's Tuesday and I slept for shit. I didn't get to sleep until about 1, despite all my good intentions and sleep aids. For some reason, I got anxious and wasn' able to settle myself down. One of the ways I did combat it was to take weed at about 12am, and that's sill kind of hanging out. Oh well, I'd rather be tired with a little sleep than the tired with no sleep.

Yesterday up til then had been pretty good. Busy at work, and then I cooked dinner, which was chicken piccata. The sauce was a bit too lemony, but not bad. The chicken was good. I fried it, which alwats tastes good.

After that, I took out all the trash. It was very heavy (my own damn fault) and I needed a moment to sit before I came inside, because my back was screaming.

Then, just to piss my back off even more, I cleaned the cat's litterbox out. by the time I was done, it was time to lay down and stretch the back out. I was so ready for bed. But the time between then and the time I tried to sleep, my brain decided it was time to be an asshole.

I know I need to give myself a little grace about getting all the things done, but it's tough. I feel like I should be superwoman. Able to work full time, yet keep the house immaculately and also, cook 5 star meals.

Since that's unlikely, I'll just have to deal with what I can do.

Today, I plan ot produce another bag of trash, which will sit in the kitchen until tomorrow.

Cool thing, though. I was searching through the Holland America website, and found a link for "experiences". They had a few not so interesting things. But they also had a vow renewal package. And it occurred to me that Jess might want a wedding picture that they don't have dysphoria over.

It sounded super fun. We start with some time wiht Hors d'oeuvres and lovely flowers, then the captain renews our vows, and we get a dinner for two at the Pinnacle Grill. It sounds very nice, and they have a pro photographer who will take pictures for the ceremony. Their picture package is excessive, but I'll probably get it anyways.

I spent some time researching coctail and bridal dresses. I found one that I liked and also one that satisfied my innner Project Runway nerd. In Ink Blue.

Once Jess is hurting a little less, and the drains are out, we shall go to get Jess measured for their suit at Indochino. Fully customized to their decisions.

Now I shall go forth and get myself together. Maybe take a bit of a nippy nap. Everyone have an outstanding Tuesday!
Welcome back to Monday, whoo. I could use another weekend day to get shit done.

I feel like I've been failing at everything but taking care of Jess. I need to take out the trash, I haven't cooked a meal in over a week. It's just been a lot. I need to get my shit together, basically. I've been walking the dog, and my sister kindly did the dishes, but there's so much more to be done. It makes me feel shitty about myself, because the apartment is kind of a wreck and I hate it. It reminds me of the house, and it's upsetting.

Today, I have to walk the dog, take the trash out, clean the litterbox, and maybe take a. box or two out. I believe the garbage pick up comes today, so I'll have a little bit easier time of getting it into the dumpster. And I really should make dinner. But of course, that will be the first thing to go in the toilet.

Yesterday was very nice up until I ended up with a migraine/sinus headache from hell. We went to Ammoora for brunch, which was excellent. They had a fixed price lunch, for $60. You picked a spread or salad, a hot or cold appetizer and a main course. Dessert was extra. My lord, it was so much food. We basically just passed the plates around, until Mains.

For my first dish, I got hummus, which was very tasty. Jess got the Foul dip, and my sister got the halloumi and pear salad. The star of the show was the puffy, soft and delicious bread htat cmae with the dips. Think a pita balloon. SO good. The rest of the food was also excellent.

Second, the Mezze dish. I got the Honey Za'atar burrata. Which was sort of cheating, since we'd gotten that and knew I loved it. Jess got Falafel with a kick ass tahini sauce. My sister got a cheese flatbread. Good, but my least favorite.

Next up was the main. I got a shrimp frittatta. It was excellent. The frittatta may have been my favorite egg dish so far. Jess had french toast, which was very tasty. IT had cardamom cream all over it. My sister got the lamb, which I was assured was good.

Dessert, we split the baklava sampler (Okay, but nothing special) and this delicious pudding that blew my mind. IT was pistachio, semolina and something else. But it was amazing.

And now, back to reality.

I would like to take a nap, but instead, I gotta go to work. But first, I've got to get myself together. Everyone have an amazing Monday!
It's Sunday all ready, ugh. Yesterday was very busy. I drove down and got the meats from the Silver Spring Farmer's Market, and did a speed run to grab some pastries and empanadas. They all were excellent last time, and did not disappoint this week, either. I got an enormous bag of meat, which I will coordinate a time to meet up with the lovely [personal profile] poisontaster for a hand off. Then, I hurried home and took the dog our and got ready for a nice low key game. Jess did great. They needed to lay down halfway through, but we just moved their laptop and got them all set up.

After that, there was some quiet time until dinner arrived. The BIL stopped by. My lord, he is so excited about this Alaska trip. He's taking care of his mother, and while his sisters do help him, it's mostly him. His mom is in better shape than my dad was, but it's still a lot on him. It's not like he has a ton that he looks forward to. But this, he's all atwitter. I got him a fishing excursion, and you would have thought I'd just handed him gold. (It wouldn't be my kind of excursion, but if it makes him happy, I'm all for that.)

I have a few more clothes that I want to pick up, but for the most part, I think I'm done. Still need to get Jess a few things.

Today, we are supposed to go down Ammoorra for brunch. Jess discovered that they can hide the drains under a button down shirt, so depending on how they're feeling, they may join. Otherwise, they will rest on the couch and my sister and I will go.

The weather is just fucking with us now. Today, it's going to be 72, but yesterday it was in the 80s. It is ripping apart my allergies. My sinuses are not enjoying this at all. Tomorrow, I think it's relatively cool again, but then tomorrow it's creeping back up.

Okay, on that note, time to get some more coffee and get myself together. Everyone have the best Sunday!
Why is it morning again? Ugh. The cat decided that I was done napping, and began a little campaign of terror to get me up at around 4:30am. I bravely resisted until 6, at which point I fed her, and tried to go back to sleep, but alas, that was not what she wanted. I finally got up at 6:30.

Yesterday, we went for Jess' post op. We cut the time close, but made it in time to wait quite a while for the doctor. I know in Jess' post, they mentioned 15 min, but it was way more than that. I'd say about 40. Honestly, it didn't matter, because they were so happy with the unveiling, I'd have waited much longer. They look amazing, and even at 1 week, they're healing so well. The drains stayed in, so they have to go back in a week for removal. They're still putting out too much fluid to safely remove yesterday.

We came home to find that my sister had done some work in the house, which I was profoundly grateful for. She also had food waiting for us, which was also much appreciated. Once we ate, Jess had their first shower, which I know they've been waiting for.

Today, I'm supposed to be driving down to the Silver Spring Farmer's market to pick up some meat, which then I will need to coordinate with [personal profile] poisontaster to deliver. Then, it's back to have game, as long as Jess feels up to it.

Tomorrow, we have brunch at Ammooora. I don't know if Jess will be up to it, so it might just be my sister and I, we shall see. Then, tomorrow night, another game, which the lovely [personal profile] poisontaster runs.

It's nice to get back into having some games, but I'm a touch nervous, too. I worry that I've forgotten what they're doing and how to weave the story. But I shall deal.

Why is the package that's supposed to arrive today in Albany? That is not Maryland. Ugh. Annoying.

Okay, time to get my shit together. Everyone have a stupendous Saturday!
