It's Saturday! Sure, it's a work saturday, but that's okay. I've got work, then I need to go pick up prescriptions, then get my hair touched up. After that, I have nothing, so I'm good with that.
Sadly, my boss was able to use her tickets, so probably no Phantom tomorrow. I did look at tickets, but they were pretty expensive. We'll see. I looked at the theater, who has a subscription service. Not active now, but I signed up to get alerted when next season goes on sale. I think it would be cheaper, and I'd like to get more into theater. I've liked most of the shows I've been to (fuck you Cats) and do really enjoy musical movies. So, maybe in the coming year, I'll get some culture, y'all.
Part of the bonus of being the DM's spouse is that, especially in the planning stages, Jess will get info about the world while it's being formed. Once it's solidified, I'll disseminate the knowlege to everyone, but Jess hears the missteps along the way, and about my love for certain characters that I'm creating. When I started creating the new fairytale campaign, I mentioned that in their home base, the land of Hamlin, the old kind had been cruel and paranoid, but that under the new the new king the land is basically a socialist monarchy.
Jess decided that they'd like to bring in their pacifist paladin, Dalton. And they started bouncing ideas off me, because Dalton has a dark past. Before we knew it, Dalton had been woven into the story. Jess was so excited with the framework we'd come up with that they wrote a lot of fic. I can't wait for the campaign to start in a few months so we can finish the story! Dalton is an awesome character who was WAY too good for the oneshots he was in, so I'm thrilled to see where it goes.
I'm slowly but surely working in the other characters, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they come along as well. I may write a little bit of the set up of the campaign, and see how that goes. There's a lot that happens in the intervening years between the end of what Jess wrote and where the campaign will start.
Okay, time for me to get myself together. I really don't feel like doing my hair today. I could do it tomorrow. Then I wouldn't have other things going on.
I might do that.
For now, everyone have an amazing Saturday!

Date: 2025-11-08 02:01 pm (UTC)I don't know that Dalton was too good for the oneshots, which were very fun and let him bounce off the other characters while I developed him, but oath of redemption is definitely a concept that blossoms in a long-form campaign. (even if I'm a little terrified of how many persuasive speeches I'm going to have to give as Dalton tries to redeem everyone who's a) capable of listening or b) not puppy-kicking, orphan-eating levels of evil. so much talking! eep!) I love Kristoff as you created him, and thank you for indulging my immediate need to have a yearning gay romance with the socialist regent of a monarchy. XD
