beanside | The angry boy, a bit too insane, icing over a secret pain, you know you don't belong

Well that was a lot of day to fit in one journal entry. The short version is that it was a wonderful fandom day, and I was yet again exhausted by the end and tumbled into bed.

It started with a lovely fandom breakfast. I went down solo, but then a bunch of fangirls joined me, so it was a wonderful meal. The hotel breakfast is mid, but it's protein, so I'm not going to complain. They do have a bowl of salsa and a bowl of cheese for the eggs, which was nice. Then, it was some downtime, which I used to call Jess and tell them how much I missed them.

Then, it was time for a LONG car ride to the tea room. We went to Russian Tea Time, which was absolutely lovely. It ended up being four of us, all squished in a Toyota Highlander. Nice car, not made for five people in extended rush hour.

Once we actually made it to the tea place, it was lovely. Very charming decor. With the waiter's suggestion, we decided to share two servings of the Queen's Tea, with the upgraded savories and sweets. Totally worth it. The tea came out first. Their house blend was a black tea with currants that was amazing with just a tiny sugar cube in it. The tower came out a while later, and proved that we had chosen correctly. Just SO much food. The scones were plain scones, but accompanying it was some crepes and whipped cream and jam. Because we had the Queen's Tea, we also got Salmon roe. Not my favorite thing, but I'm glad I tried it. The crepes by the way were amazing.

The savories had little sandwiches. Cucumber dill, turkey, salmon, chicken and egg. Each one seemed to be tastier than the last. We split them all in half, and were still pretty full by the time we hit the sweets. The sweets were SO good. You all, ten years of Buckyfic, I finally had the famous Russian honey cake, Medovik. It was really tasty. Not too sweet, but just that little touhch of honey amidst the cream.

The company was top noch, and the day wasn't over. After that, we went to Gangnam market and did a whirlwind tour of the store. I got way more crap than I needed to.

Then it was back to the hotel and off to meet and greet, which was super fun.

Then a few minutes to call Jess and tell them about my day, and off to see Venom. No spoilers, but it was a fitting end to the series. Stay til the end of credits for the stinger scenes.

Okay, time to get myself together and go down to see if the con suite is open, so I can get coffee. I'm hoping yes. The hotel coffee is just not good. It's weak, yet bitter and kind of blah. With my fellow coffee drinkers in mind, I bought a keurig and some creamer and sugar, so I'm going to go see if I can have access to that yet.I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!
