beansideI woke up at 7:30, and my body decided that was it for sleeping. Maybe I'll take a nap later? We'll see. Depends on how much people annoy me.
Slow day today. Just going to futz around until it's time for me to get set up to run the evening game. Tonight, it's the former party of Lost Mine, now having finished up a mini module who's name I cannot remember to save my life. What they're playing now is just a couple of tack on scenes that I threw together. After tonights, we'll have a bit of a break on this one while I figure out bow to work the next module for players slightly higher than it was intended for. Originally, I was thinking about ending this one, but my players really want to keep on going, and I'm good with that.
I have so many games going right now. It's a lot, y'all. I have good brain days and I propose ALL the one shots and mini campaigns, and our calendar looks impressively fucked up for July. Most weekends, I'm running three or four games. I don't regret it, I love playing D&D, but it means I have a lot of prep to do.
Yesterday morning was busy. Up early to take the dog for grooming, then to take Jess to the acupuncturist. I did some errands while they were being stabbed, and then chatted with a friend from IKEA for awhile. It sounds like I got out at the right time. Right after I left, beloved manager left, and they got a new one, who lasted 6months before being fired. Half of my old team isn't doing their jobs, and the other half is sick of covering, so shit is falling through the cracks. The company got a 60% employee engagement score and just handwaved it in the town hall. I feel bad for my friends who're still there, but goddamn, it's hilarious.
Last night, we had a D&D game. The module didn't go exactly the way it was planned by the creator, but it was a lot of fun. The players defeated two inept liches, and got a warlock patron in the bargain.
Okay, time for me to consider getting myself together. Everyone have an amazing Sunday!
