I am up early today with no one to blame but myself. I just woke up at 5 for absolutely no reason, and could not get back to sleep. I finally gave up around 6.

Yesterday was a mostly boring day, though I got some stuff done. I called my pre-boarding coordinator right at 9 and got her. She'd left a message on Thursday, but I wasn't able to reach her back. We set up my physical and shot fest. Apparently, they'll give me any shots I need right then and there, except for Covid. So I'm expecting to get my flu shot and maybe MMR and Dtap. It'll be a busy day. Unfortunately, I do have to go downtown to an offshoot of the main hospital to do it, but that's okay. It's just once. Unless I have to go back to let them read my TB test. Either way, it's not bad. My coordinator did say there's still a slight chance of starting on my original date, since I've been very prompt about getting things done. It all depends on the background check coming back quickly.

She also confirmed that I'll have my inital day on-site, where I'll go through orientation and get the badge I'll never need again. Then they'll give me a quick tutorial on how to set up my equipment, and issue it to me, and off I'll go. I assume I'll also get the rundown on what I'll need to have open in the morning and how things will work, but that may be virtual on Tuesday.

I'm really looking forward to getting back to work. I need something to focus on. I'm currently combating having no money by looking up lavish vacations. One of the first things I plan to do when money starts coming in is to get our passports, which means that the sky is the limit. Dad dependent, if we want to go to Toronto for a long weekend, we can do just that. Once I have vacation, we could go wherever we want. And I'm thinking I might want a few days in Mexico around my birthday, or maybe Iceland for a long weekend.

This wanderlust may not survive once I'm in the regular grind, but right now, I want to get away. I've never been so many places!

Today, we shall clean my car, and head out to see Dad, and pick up Jess' sleepytime meds. Aside from that, not a whole lot going on. I'll probably price out another wild vacation. Or maybe a not-wild one. We'll see! It's going to be wild to have both enough money to do things and a regular schedule. I'm looking forward to that.

Okay, time for more coffee. Everyone have an excellent Saturday!
