Greetings from (yet again) snowy Maryland, where we're adding another 4-6" to our total today. It's already about 2", and we've got 12 hours to go, so I question the official prediction. Much as I hate to say it, I don't believe that dad is getting a visit today.
Yesterday was a somewhat busy day, as I had to go get my drug screening and pick up the dog's treats, then get back in time for a mid-day game with
poisontaster and
nilchance, which was a belated birthday present for PT. Back during the last virtual CONfab, I ran a Monster of the Week game, but we were up against Gartic Phone, so my only player was PT. She enjoyed the game so much that I promised her that for her birthday, I'd run another. She decided to bring in my lovely spouse, so we had a two person game. It was a lot of fun to run, though much shorter than the expected 3 hour run time. When there's less people to discuss things between, the plans are conceived and executed much quicker.
Of course, during the game, I missed a call from Hopkins to set up my pre employment physical. I called back, but I wasn't able to get through, so I'll try again today. The phone # the coordinator called from was in Virginia, and I don't think they got quite as much snow, so she might actually be at work.
The drug screen was a bit of a pain in the butt, mostly because by the time I got in there, I had to go SO badly. I ended up mopping the floor a bit, as I overflowed a touch. It was gross and not at all fun, but it's done.
Today, I have nothing to do but sit here and watch the snow and prep for my games this weekend. I've got one tonight and one on Sunday that I need to reread the module and prep any maps for.
Hopefully, I can set up my physical for one day next week and get that out of the way, so that we can progress to the job portion of the program.
I think we've decided that our next big vacation is going to be an Alaska cruise for Jess' 45th birthday. I'm currently starting my favorite portion of the planning stage--research!
The question is going to be which cruise line. We're leaning towards Disney, but it's several thousand dollars more than it's competitors, so I'm trying to break down what we will and won't do onboard. The main lure of Disney is that it seems to be a very informal cruise line. There's one optional formal night, which sounds right about up our alley. The food looks pretty good and there's a lot of adult only activities, so it might be fun. More research will need to be done, though. Which is cool. I researched going to Disney for three years, so this will be nothing new.
First, though, we have a trip to Philadelphia in late March. We're going to eat all the food!
Okay, going to go put on pants and let the dog out and get some more coffee. Everyone have a perfect Friday and stay warm and dry!
