A touch of Broadway to start your Halloween! It's funny, I would have said that I hated musicals, but I really don't. I'm just deeply picky. Phantom, Rent and Jekyll and Hyde, sure. Cats, no. My family was big into western musicals like Oklahoma and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and I just could not. They just didn't work for me. And so I assumed I hated musicals until Jess came along. Now, who knows. I'm thinking maybe I'd like to see Wicked and Beetlejuice.
It is really early, and I am definitely stopping for a coffee on the way to work. I feel the need for a Nitro Cold Brew.
It's test day, and I'm a little nervous. First up around 7:30, I have the Computer Aided Dispatch practical. I'm second in line, so I've got to be there early. Then, I'll have many hours of nothing to do while everyone else goes. Lunch somewhere in there, and then the final exam. 50 questions, not multiple choice. I think I've got shit down for the most part, but I'm still anxious.
I have no idea what they're going to do with us after the CAD practical. I assume they're going to stuff us somewhere, but they weren't sure where. They were talking about having us observe, but there's 11 of us, and 10 would need somewhere to sit. There's only at best 6 calltakers. There's six more in dispatch, but there's probably not enough chairs for all of us, so I don't think that'll be happening.
So all in all, who tf knows where they're going to put us? They certainly don't. The idea is to segregate us before and after the exam, so people can't talk about it. We'll see what they decide to do.
I just want the day done, so I can be a limp dish rag. I know that when I start actual training, it's going to be a lot, but I also won't be studying quite as frantically.
I'm planning to come home and maybe do a little prep on the Blades in the Dark game for tomorrow night. Then, bathtime for Dad, always thrilling. Then bed. I still have two days of class, mostly going over the next steps and then Friday, we're up at the backup center learning a bit about the phones. (The phones are freaking terrifying.)
I guess it's about time to think about underwear and pants. Everyone have the best Halloween!
