beansideI'm awake! I woke up precisely three minutes before my alarm, which was nice. Normally, I wake up an hour or two and that's just annoying. On the unfortunate side, Jess was snuggled against my side, and I had to gently extricate myself without waking them up. But now I'm upright and having my coffee. I don't expect work to be much of anything today. I'll be doing busywork the whole day, ew.
My accomplishment yesterday was that I didn't murder anyone. Dad has been so damn fussy the last two days. And I get it, he's uncomfortable. He's stuck in bed, and there's only so much rolling him on his side with pillows can do. But goddamn. if twenty minutes went by without him grunting or making noises or cussing, I didn't clock it. The grunting and general noises fine, but when he starts cussing, that can mean anything from "My butt hurts and I'm not happy" to "I tried to use the urinal and failed, and now I need wipes and towels." So when he cusses, we hurry in. When he calls, we hurry in. And he can't just call once, no. If you're not there like you teleported in, he'll keep calling. Over and over again with increasing volume, occasionally interspersed with "Help me." It's just...ugh.
I was so frazzled that I wasn't sure I was going to be up to play D&D inpoisontaster's game. But I decided to give it a try and of course, had an awesome time. I play Irsu, a blade singing wizard and aspiring pyromaniac. Unfortunately, we had to finish early to take care of Dad, so our characters are in Peril, but it's all good.
Okay, guess I should get myself together for work at some point. Have the very best Monday everyone!
