I did my morning check on my vacation tracker, and we are down to 80 days. Time to start getting excited! And start getting everything in order. Last night, I bought some cute envelopes for tips for Mousekeeping. The bigger question in my mind is how much to tip per day? A normal hotel, I'd do about $5 a day, but this is a fancy Disney resort, so I have no idea. Fortunately, there's about a dozen Facebook groups I can go ask. I just don't want to seem like I'm cheap. I want to do this vacation like a responsible adult.
I've also ordered some more tshirts, which we're going to need and a new bathing suit. The bikini top and shorts I'd gotten from Torrid were a little too revealing for Disney. I would not have been at all comfortable, I don't think.
Next up, we shall dig around and see what our legging situation is, and if we're going to need any extras. It's kind of hard figuring out what we're going to need this far out. I mean, the weather forecasts are saying in the 60-70 degree range, but it's also still a ways out, so I don't know how realistic that is. We're definitely going to be taking the big suitcase. Maybe two. Thankfully, we're driving, so we don't have to worry so much about packing light. Or what souvenirs we get people for that matter.
I think we'll probably be putting one more order in at Torrid for leggings, but aside from that, I think we're okay. I may also go on Etsy and get a couple cute Disney tshirts. But that's entirely negotiable and I don't know how Jess will feel about it.
In just 20 days, I get to make dining reservations. There's only one or two that I really care about. I really want to go to Ohana, which is at our resort, and to Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom resort. Aside from that, it's all still up in the air. I'm tempted to book at the California Grill on Friday night, to carb and protein up post tattoo, but we shall see. Maybe we'll do Ohana again, who knows. Or maybe, since we'll be outside of the Disney Bubble, we'll go to one of Orlando's other excellent restaurants. I'll have to look and see if anything strikes our fancy. If there's a good Italian/steak place, I'm totally there. We did that after our tattoos in Nashville at the first Wincon, and it was perfect.
Jess' tattoo artist has replied that she has openings, so now I'm just waiting for my guy to reply before we set up appointments. I'm thinking something like around 5pm. I know us, and if we go to the park when it opens, we're going to poop out around 3pm, if not a little earlier. And since this is just our mop up day at Magic Kingdom, to get anything we missed during the big day, there's no need to push ourselves too hard. So, figure we finish around 3, an hour to go back to the room and shower and change clothes, then half an hour to get to the tattoo place. Figuring on the tattoos taking about 2 hours total, so back to the hotel by 8, and then a late dinner/carb loading/watching the fireworks one last time.
Okay, time for me to get myself together for work and stop obsessing about a vacation that's still 80 days away. Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Date: 2022-11-24 03:19 pm (UTC)I'm starting to get anxious about my dining reservations, since there are so many horror stories about "I didn't get any reservations I wanted!" on facebook.
