beansideIt's Monday and I want another hour of sleep. Instead, I was awoken half an hour early by a loud thump from upstairs. Worried about Boodle, I got up and found exactly nothing. I have no idea what fell over, but it was loud. Boodle, of course, greeted me by yelling for more food.
There is legit a candidate in MD named Calvin Ball. Every single time one of his ads comes on, I find myself smiling, so thank you, Mr. Ball.
Yesterday at work, I was stuck doing the failed delivery queue, which I dislike. I couldn't figure out why it was so heavy, then not!manager mentioned that yesterday was the NY Marathon. So, all the street closures, rather than rerouting, the transport providers just say "nah, nevermind," and fail the delivery. Then we get it and have to reschedule. It's not a hard job, it's just repetitive and monotonous, and they were coming in like 20 at a time, so I felt like I was scrambling to keep up.
Tomorrow is election day, and I unfortunately didn't make it to early voting, so I guess I'll be going up after work. I'm hoping that if I go up directly at 4:30, it might not be horrible, but we shall see.
Out of curiosity, I looked up the February forecast for Orlando. I know that this far out, it's probably akin to witchcraft, but two separate sites forecast the same basic temperatures. Right now, it's showing highs between 65-70 degrees and lows down around 53. If that holds, it will be everything I wanted out of this vacation.
Today, I shall probably have not a whole lot to do, and I'm okay with that. I shall relax, probably poke at the pending returns queue, and maybe, if I'm lucky an NDR will come in early.
Last night, we had the epilogue to our Wild Beyond the Witchlight game. Since the players had chosen to do the pacifist run, they wanted to test the characters out in combat. As a result, I wrote a little adventure and ran it last night.
It went well I think? It was a LOT of combat, and we left off with them facing off against two purple dragons. I just annihilated the artificers little animated teacup companion with the dragon's breath weapon, which is the first character I've killed in my DM career. Not sure how I feel about that yet. I guess we'll see if the cleric can revivify it? Since we technically defined it as a creature, I'm willing to go for that particular use of the spell.
