beansideAnd we have reached the dreaded office day, boo. I am up half an hour early so that I can be ready to go. I didn't really sleep that great last night, so waking up early was not difficult. I've been up since about four. I was also up at midnight, one and two. It was deeply annoying. I wonder if it's anticipation of having to go into work that fucks with my sleep cycle. Even if it's just knowing that I have to get up earlier than I normally do.
I still have not heard anything about the job. My coworker M got a no at her "feedback meeting" yesterday. But she had a different person than I did doing her original interview, so I don't know if my interviewer is just slow getting out the no or if this means something good. As the days have gone on, I'm beginning to think maybe? Just maybe. But honestly, if they don't tell me soon, I'm just going to explode. This thing has been a shitshow from start to finish, with cancelled interviews, missed deadlines (including this one-I was supposed to hear by the end of last week) and absolutely no communication. Every bit of information that I've gotten, I've had to chase down. If I don't hear anything today or tomorrow, I guess I'll be chasing them down again.
And look, I know that they're still trying to get a manager for this new department. As much of this reorganization, this has been a bit of a mess. It's always an auspicious sign when the original manager is fired two weeks into interviews. They had to reinterview several people because of it.
We're scheduled to go to the Melting Pot for their Oktoberfest special in two weeks, and it would be awesome if that could be a celebration.
Part of my Torrid order came! I am the official owner of a candy corn colored sweater! I absolutely fell in love with it, and it's so soft! I'm going to definitely wear it today, since it's going to be in the 50's when I go out. It's going to get up to 75 and be sunny for the first time in five days, so I'm looking forward to that. Hurricane Ian didn't do much but dump multiple days of rain, but after day three it was getting old. I mean, it did knock out our power one day, but otherwise, nothing horrible.
I have another part of the order coming on Friday. I ordered Jess a skeleton cardigan and myself a brown pleather corset. I love corsets, and I have just the black top to wear with it. I will definitely wear it to the Melting Pot.
Okay, going to get more coffee and get myself together for work. Have a good Thursday, y'all!
