beansideAnd we're back to office day. Ew. I know people go into the office every day, but after two years kicking ass at work from home, it just seems stupid. They've even said that productivity falls when we're in the office, so why the fuck are we still doing it? It's just utter bullshit. I feel like they just want to justify having the two buildings, which they could totally sell, and save some money.
As I've said before, it will be a busy day. I've got meetings off and on all day, so that's always fun. I fucking hate meetings, especially ones where I'm expected to participate a lot. The one in the morning, I'll be expected to be nominally in charge, so that'll be fun. At least that's just a Teams meeting, so I don't have to modulate my face. The other two are in person. Not really looking forward to those.
Yesterday was quiet. I did my markets and then helped out with delivery updates. Hurricane Ian has disrupted our deliveries from Florida to Texas, since one of our parcel centers is in Lakeland Florida, and it services the Southern US. We've gotten over 6000 updates in over the last few days, which is insane. At least it made the day go relatively quickly. I'll probably be stuck doing them again today.
Still no word on the job. Jerkbrain is convinced that I'll get the turndown notice this morning, so I have to sit in the office all day licking my wounds and being unhappy. At the rate they're going this is not likely, but jerkbrains are assholes.
Tomorrow, we have nothing planned, which will be lovely. It's a 3 D&D game weekend, which will be nice. I'm looking forward to it. We're probably going to finish up Wild Beyond the Witchlight on Sunday! We would have finished it a few weeks ago, but I had a migraine from hell.
I was able to get off on Monday, so I'll be available to help Jess while the workers are here. Still not looking forward to the six hours of banging around, but I suppose if it gets us heat and hot water, I can deal.
Okay, gonna get more coffee and try to work up some enthusiasm for work. Everyone have an awesome Thursday!
