beansideAnd it's Thursday, my most conflicted day. On one hand, last day of my work week, yay! On the other, it's my in office day, boo! Hopefully, it'll go quickly, and painlessly.
Yesterday was better than expected. I had stuff to work on off and on most of the day, so I wasn't horribly bored. I had two interviews. The first, which was to become the Outreach Coordinator for the national Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group. It's a strictly volunteer position, but would look good on my resume. The interview went okay I guess. They were very nice, but the information about the position were kind of thin. It would only be a 3 hr a month commitment, so it wouldn't be bad to be able to put it on my resume. I don't really have any relevant experience, so I'm not holding my breath.
The second was the interview. The one that got abruptly cancelled three weeks ago for knowledge specialist. I figured after it having been radio silence for three weeks, the job being reposted, and only getting an interview the day after I finally cracked and emailed for an update that this was a courtesy interview. My friend M, who was in the same boat as me, had her interview in the morning, so I had a little idea of what questions would be asked.
I kind of hate interviews. I end up feeling like an awkward duck and just kind of running out of words to say rather than wrapping my sentences up with a great summary. Still, a little bit of an idea of what was coming did help. I felt like the interview went pretty well, but I still wasn't really expecting much. At the end, the interviewer asked if I had any questions, and I asked about the timeline on the hiring process.
She said, "You will get an email by the end of this week to set up the next interview, which will probably be early next week. After that, things will move very quickly." So, does that mean I got through to the next round? Because that's kind of what it sounded like she was saying. I won't fully believe it until I get that email, but it sounded promising? Oh, and I found out that the original interview was canceled because the interviewer quit. So that made me feel a little bit better. Still doesn't explain why I had to reach out to get scheduled, but maybe, just maybe things are moving in the right direction?
Okay, I should probably get myself together for work. Actual pants and a bra, ew. Everyone have a wonderful Thursday!
