beansideUgh. Holy fuck I did not sleep well last night. We took our pills a little late, but it shouldn't have fucked me up as bad as it did. I was just anxious as balls, and felt like there was something fizzy in my chest. I didn't finally relax and fall asleep until after 2am. The alarm at six was not something that made me happy. And of course, since I didn't wake up early, I'm stuck not eating or drinking for half an hour, and I really, really need coffee. Work is going to be fun today. I may nap on my lunch break if I don't wake the fuck up soon.
We seem to have created a monster. A couple of weeks ago, we had gotten Boodle some freeze dried minnows and freeze dried chicken hearts and plain freeze dried chicken. She spends most of her day on her cat tree, and now whenever we approach, she sits up pretty and waits for you to get her a fishie. I think of the three the minnows are her least favorite, but we're out of the chicken until payday. Jess is an especially soft touch as they have given her seven minnows at once. In their defense, they say the minnows were especially tiny ones, so they were only two bites. She sits very sweetly and occasionally makes little soft peeps, just so we know that she wants something. When you give her what she wants, the purr is impressive. She's going to weigh 30lbs, and we're going to go broke buying her the expensive treats.
Work yesterday was mostly boring. I helped out in a couple of departments, but that was about it. None of my markets came in before I left. M had a phone interview for the same job I applied for, and now has a second interview on Thursday morning. I'm torn on this. On one hand, there are three positions open, and I like M, and want her to do well. On the other, I'm competitive. Not much I can do really. Just do my best.
I got my other shirt from Nordstrom in the mail yesterday. It fits really well, and I think it's going to be my interview shirt. Its a cap sleeve, which isn't my favorite, but that's what a blazer is for. I'll be monochrome for my interview, black boots, black pants, black blazer and black and white shirt. Hopefully, it says competent and not desperate.
I have a couple of questions lined up, about bringing the more obscure tools into the light. I was helping out a coworker and discovered that no one, including her managers had a clue that one of our tools existed. It's something that lets you see what parts are in each box and where, which is incredibly helpful when the customer calls that they can't find the legs of their sofa. (we wedge them in the open space in the sofa back). So I want to mention that, to show that I know my shit.
Our D&D game for Saturday is in jeopardy, since one of the players may have gotten a paying gig, so there may be only the character creation for the game I'm playing in. Sad. We may play Frostmaiden for 2 hours on Wednesday, depending on schedules, which would be nice. I have shenanigans planned.
After that, it's another Frostmaiden on next Wednesday and Strahd and Lost Mine the weekend after, and then nothing for the last two weeks. Pesky summer vacations. I'm a little envious, since ours is still over 180 days away. I hope they have an awesome time. We'll just have to figure out something to do those weekends.
