Ugh, it's so early. Okay, it's the same time I get up every day, but it just feels especially icky today. Part of it is that I slept hard last night, so I'm a little woofled. I slept all the way through and missed taking my Rybelsus at it's normal time. So, I took it when I woke up. Which means I have to wait to drink my coffee. I don't think it works as well when I take it like this. My sugar usually is a little higher, especially during the morning. Oh well, nothing I can do about it.
Work was predictably boring yesterday. I did all my markets in the morning and then did nothing the rest of the day. I could have done some training, but my brain was just fried from lack of sleep and focusing was not happening. Today I'm doing delivery updates, so hopefully I'm a little more with it. Excel can be a fiddly bitch sometimes, so I've gotta be at least mildly awake. It's definitely going to be a coffee day.
The nice thing yesterday was dinner. It was Greek Easter, so my sister brought home some leftovers from the in-laws dinner. I stuffed so many dolmades in my face, I swear. So fucking tasty. Dad got his cookies (koulourakia) and a cup of rice pudding so he was actually pretty happy.
I think today my last two packages are supposed to come. There's a pair of sandals, which will hopefully fit well and be comfortable, and my candles. The sandals are on the truck for delivery already, but the candles are not. Hopefully they come today. I want to sniff!
As I mentioned in my ETA yesterday, after a bit of consideration, we've decided to drive to Florida for our vacation. It'll be a bit of a pain, I'll admit. It's a 14 hour drive, which is not insignificant. But the benefits will outweigh it. The flights that I've been pricing out were about $800 between us, but that didn't include a checked bag. I've been trying to figure out a way that we could get away with carryons, but for a 7 day trip, that just wasn't happening. So, there would have been a checked bag fee. So, lets say $850. Then, there's transportation between the home and the airport and the airport and the resort. So, that'll add another $150.
I did a search for cars and found that Enterprise had a small SUV for $39/day. For the time we'd need it, it would be $350. Figure another $300 for gas round trip. We'll probably do half the drive and get a hotel for the night, so that's another $130/ night. Plus resort parking. It'll end up being a little more expensive, but not by that much.
But the biggest thing is not being stuck in a flying tube with recirculated air and no mask mandate. Jess'll be able to bring some form of cannabis based sleep aid instead of relying on the sleep pill that only worked for them half the time. No flying while trans for them. We won't have to worry about souvenirs fitting in luggage! No security checkpoints and dealing with the fatophobia of the airlines. Will Southwest make me purchase an extra seat? Who knows! And now, with a nice rental car, I never have to know!
Apparently, we'll be getting something like a Nissan Kick. I had to look that one up. It's basically a glorified station wagon. There's something poetic about us driving the mom-mobile down to Disney. I went ahead and booked the car. Might as well, since they had availability that far out. It's another link in the chain of tangible things that will make vacation real.
I know people had real life things to do, but I miss D&D. I've been watching the countdown, and it's slowly crawling closer, but not quick enough. I want my serotonin hit. Oh well 11 more days!
Okay, guess it's time to get my ass together. Have a the very best Monday you can have!

To be honest, I don't know if there's even 14 hours of music that I love, but we shall see!
