My god. Only 2 weeks til handfasting & vacation.
Aaaargh.
Okay. Now that I'm done with that, let's get on with it.
Weekend was pretty boring, aside from the mouse that seems to have invaded the house, more specifically, Jess' and my room. Oddly, this freaked me out severely. I didn't sleep particularly well either Friday night, nor Saturday, because the little bastard was doing gymnastics on the floor near my nightstand.
I discovered two things quite quickly. One, when it comes to mice, I'm a serious girly-girl. Two, my love for wildlife only extends as far as having one in my room. Then, it goes bye-bye. I was plotting traps and poison, and all sorts of shit. I didn't do any of it, but still. I've offered either of my cats a fresh salmon dinner if they off the little bastard, and I can't say I'll feel guilty about it. I've also set some humane traps, and if he ends up in one of them, I'll be more than happy to set him free outside. Away from my room.
Last night, I did manage to sleep, I think the cats drove him out into the front basement. Ew, again. But they have a better shot at getting him there, I think. We have too much low furniture for them to be effective hunters.
Other than that, have now read all three of the Artemis Fowl books, and can't reccommend them enough. Artemis is like a less hateful/spiteful Draco, so you get the bad boy thing without hating him. The third book ends badly, but at the same time, it opens up so many avenues for the fourth book that I can't say it's a bad thing.
This week, I have to have my car serviced in preparation for the big Chicago trip to spend time with the in-laws. I'm actually looking forward to the drive up. We're not pushing it, just making it a road trip. If we see something cool, we'll stop and check it out. It goes totally against my normal personality, but on vacation, it works.
We're staying with Jess' parents while we're there, so Jess doesn't have to deal with my anal searching for a perfect hotel. *grin* I drive her batty.
Okay, back to work...maybe tonight, we'll hit Michaels or AC Moore and look at decorations. I know Michaels has the citronella torch-candles on sale for $2, so I might pick up those. And maybe they'll have a cool altar cloth. I want something nice and pretty, dammit. Ooh, and maybe they'll have a head piece that doesn't look butt ugly on me.
Must remember to take the rings to full moon so that the coven can bless them on Saturday. *nod* Must remember to reply to Sonya's e-mail about what we can bring. Must get some work done. *nod*
Oddly, I seem to be past the stressy part of all this. Now, I've moved on to the pragmatic part. "I've got a dress, got rings, sent invites, and have my boquet, Jess' bouquet, and the cords. Anything else is just dressing." It'll get done when it gets done.

Re: offerings...
Date: 2003-06-10 05:40 am (UTC)I think Jess is good on head pieces. She just wanted a pair of pearl and rhinestone barrettes, we're going to curl her hair and give her that flapper look. (she looks so freaking cute that way)
Quarter candles should work out just fine, I just wasn't sure if we'd want two citronella candles for beside the altar to keep the buggies away.
The vines and such should be cool, I just have to see what we've got to put them on. I'd love to do the arch, or even just a cool trellis behind the altar for pictures, but I can't seem to find one at any of the stores up this way.
If you feel like baking, by all means, please and thank you! As long as it's not going to make your kitchen 800 degrees. Wine is cool, too. *looks suspicious* Am I going to end up with Peppermint schnapps in our chalice?
As far as printing out the ritual, let me just go over it one more time with a fine toothed comb, and then, I'll send it your way for final approval/printing. (I might actually have some cool paper it could go on, I just have to check.)
Thank you, sweetie. For all the help and petting of the head you've given over the last couple of weeks.
