Ugh. I am on night two of sleeping poorly, and I am not happy. I'm very tired and want to go back to bed for a few hours. But alas, work calls. (For a certain value of work-there won't be anything to do until the afternoon.)

Yesterday was pretty quiet. I did my work in the morning, and then had not a damn thing to do the rest of the day. I did work a few emails, just to say I did something, and then I opened googledocs on my phone and worked on some the Monster of the Week game for the evening.

On Saturday, I totally forgot to take my Rybelsus, but my sugar didn't go up on Saturday. It was a little high yesterday, but nothing horrible. The trick with Rybelsus is that you need to take it on a completely empty stomach, with a tiny sip of water, and then eat or drink nothing for half an hour. I was having coffee when I realized I forgot, so that day was a wash.

Today will doubtless be boring as coworker J is out for the day, so I'll only have coworker M to talk to. M is a sweetheart, but not great at replying to messages, so I'll mostly be sitting there playing on my phone.

But last night was Monster of the Week, and god, I love my players.

We started with the team having been summoned by the Summer Queen of Faerie. She says that there's a half elf making threats of exposing Faerie tot he world. This half elf wants to be fully acknowledged by the Court. They are to stop her, by whatever means necessary. They talk to the half elf's father, who is apparently very...productive. He barely remembers the woman's name who he knocked up, since there were so many of them. He's just charming. He's never seen the child, but his brother has chosen to live in the mortal world, and is in contact with all of his bastards.

As they leave Faerie, the Apprentice's phone rings. The team's friend Andi is calling with a problem on her movie set. The fans are getting increasingly aggressive about getting close to the stars of the movie. Most recently, a fan tackled star Vic Everett and tried to steal a kiss.

The team decides to split, half going to the coffee shop, and half to the set.

The coffee shop team, consisting of the Expert, Divine and Flake head off to meet with the uncle at his coffee shop. The man pales upon seeing the Summer Knights come in to his establishment, but they're able to settle him down. His niece wants to be able to live in Faerie, as she will live for up to 400 years, and resettling every 40 years is becoming more and more difficult.

Eventually, the niece in question shows up, and the team hears her side. She wants what the full blood elves have--choices. She's given the Summer Queen an ultimatum: in five days, if her demands are not met, she'll expose Faerie to the world. She sees which way the wind is blowing, with the West Ferry Mayor using coded "humans first" wording in his speeches.

The team tries to convince her that this will not go well, and tries to broker a compromise, but she's not having any of it. The team checks her for magical influence, and finds that yes, there is some magic clinging to her. It tastes like smoke at the back of their throat. With five days to figure out how to fix it, they head to rejoin the other half of the team at the movie set.

The team on the set check in with their contact and find that as discussed, over the last two weeks, fans have been getting more and more obsessed with getting close to the stars. They've hired more security, but it doesn't seem to be enough.

They confirm that there's a magical effect over the whole set, and it is totally demonic.

They go and talk to the star, who they previously rescued from vampires, and the Apprentice has a crush on. He confirms that the fans are making him nervous, and that he's had fans sneak into his trailer, and that they're suddenly part octopus with all the groping.

(But has there been a sex box yet?-the players ask in chat)

The star introduces them to the director of the movie, but the ambient magic of the area prevents them from getting a good read.

The fans are a little...rowdy, and obsessive. Maybe moreso than usual? They talk about the stars like a slab of meat, angering the Apprentice, who walks away to smoke a joint and commune with the area to see if she can get more out of the demon. She gets that it feeds on passion.

The fan tells them that there was a newspaper article about the movie set, and she had to come. They do some research on the newspaper and the reporter, and find an unrelated story about local developer (And member of the rival Winter Court of Faerie) buying up affordable housing to make way for a luxury apartment complex.

The Expert decides to try making demon ointment so they'll be able to see the demon. It works, and they find that the director is the demon, wearing the rotting skin of the actual director.

They lure him to their contact's vacated trailer, and question him. On a stellar manipulation roll, the demon gives up his name...Lust.

They realize that there are six other demons out there, preparing the way for Abbadon, who will arrive in 6 months, per their deal.

The fight begins, and the team takes a fair amount of damage, but in the end, the Flake strikes the final blow, and the demon disappears with a sizzle of brimstone.

We stopped the session there, with six more demons to find and destroy!

I feel so bad for all these fanchildren who will never know the joy of a ficathon raised around a sex box given to one of their faves.
