beansideAnd somehow it's back to Sunday again and back to work. The weekend always goes so fast. It was at least a mildly productive weekend. Got all my errands done, and we now have food for the week, so that's something.
Plus, we committed a baking! We got a new, much larger toaster oven that we can actually cook in. Yesterday, we finally set it up (seriously, it's huge) and baked some amaretto cupcakes. (Which is just a box mix with a dash of almond extract) It was so good. Dad was sad that we didn't have icing, but I didn't think we needed it, to be honest. We're having a pork loin tonight, but I don't know for sure whether that'll be in the oven or if we'll do it in the slow cooker. I'm thinking maybe oven for a change.
One thing with D&D, I generally sleep really well the night of and the day after. I think it tires out my brain. So that's nice. I enjoy the sleep. We were up so late on Friday night (the game went 5 hours, til midnight) that I didn't wake up until 8! This is basically unheard of for me. Last night, with all the baking, plus cooking, my back was peeved, so I took my meds early and was asleep by 8:30.
Sam has been taking his pills like a good kitty. Seriously, much easier to get meds in than Gracie was. He's kind of a himbo, so no matter how many times I sneak up on him and stuff a pill down his throat, he doesn't catch on. I love him so, but he's not the brightest kitty in the world. Possibly the sweetest, though.
The earphones we got for Dad for the TV work like a charm, except that they take the place of the TV speakers, so no one else can listen to the TV. We'll probably end up getting a splitter, but there's no rush on that. Otherwise, they work like a charm. They have the bonus that because they're a better earphone, we're not able to hear the output from the TV, which is nice. His prior earphones, we could hear well enough to make out words, even when the TV was muted. I don't really need to know what Kelly and Ryan are saying in the morning.
