As well as I slept after D&D is how badly I slept last night. It was one of those nights where I probably got some sleep, but damned if I remember any of it. I just remember being awake. I love chronic insomnia. Sometimes, even the good drugs don't always work.
Yesterday was mostly quiet, and nice. I did take my sister up to Tmobile to get a new phone, as the battery on her old one wasn't holding a charge well anymore and the touchscreen was getting persnickety. Fortunately, since she was turning in her phone, we got some money off the new one, and will get a bill credit every month. It won't be much, but it's still nice. She had problems remembering her Samsung and Google passwords, so it took longer than expected, but eventually we got it there. The new phone seems very nice. It did make me want the new Samsung Galaxy Note, which looks awesome. I don't need a new phone at all--mine is perfectly fine, but it was pretty. Maybe in a year or so when it's not the newest thing and the price goes down, I'll buy one. But for what I use my phone for, mine is fine. As long as I can use it to get on discord for D&D, I'm good.
It was apparently a phone sort of day, as the brother in law also had problems as his phone failed to find the network anymore. Apparently the problem was the phone and he is also getting a replacement. I'm so thrilled to find out what my bill is going to look like after all this.
Today, I believe my manager is still on vacation, so it will be a quiet day. I'll do my markets and then who knows. I know the project folder has been replenished, so maybe I'll work in there. Or, maybe I'll stare into space and do nothing. That's a possibility, too.
I came up with the plot hook for next week's Monster of the Week game. I realized with the bargain with the demon they made last session, I need for the next handful of games to build on one another, and give them more resources to deal with said demon. They have a year in game, so that can be a while before the demon returns, but the games have to go with that in mind. I've set myself a somewhat daunting task, but I'm going to try to work towards getting them the supplies and allies they need to survive.
In happier news, they've postponed the concert my sister had tickets to in October. She's still going to go on vacation, but at least they won't be in a crowded auditorium for the day. There's plenty things to do in the Lancaster/Hershey area that won't involve going into petri dishes. That actually really made me feel a little better, because I was worried about her. They can do some stuff outside and have fun. And maybe go to the little creamery and get some tasty ice cream and a homemade waffle cone.
As we're closing in our our vacation, I'm getting more nervous about it. Part of it is the worry about Virginia's positivity rating. But part of it is just going outside my bubble for the first time in 18 months. It's going to be strange and a little scary. But, we'll be okay. I've got the good masks, and we're going to be all outside. We're going to go and ride and eat our way through the park, and it will be good.
Okay, time to get myself in gear for work. Yuck. Second cup of coffee has been consumed. Third is pending. Everyone have a great Sunday!
