This subject line brought to you by my sister being very chatty this morning, and wanting me to see everything on her twitter feed. Send help. The coffee has not kicked in yet.
Yesterday was a busy work day. My long delayed Chicago market took me 5 hours to struggle through. Add to that two meetings, and that was the majority of my day. The first meeting was my one on one with my bosses. They were very pleased, keep doing what I'm doing and all that. The second meeting was of the new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion forum. That was interesting, but not particularly enlightening. It was basically the hello, getting to know you and what is diversity meeting. Hopefully, future meetings will be a little more interesting.
Today will probably be just as busy, as more of the delayed markets trickle in. I do have to decide whether I want to do the Chicago market today. Since I didn't get it in until nearly 3:30pm yesterday, it's not going to show any of my changes on the report that came in yesterday. So, the question is, do I want to spend another four hours working it, or wait until today's comes in and hopefully have a much smaller report to work. I'm leaning towards that option because I hate doing double work.
It's been a couple of days since I got the no thanks email, but I didn't get an interview for the Team Lead position. I felt really bad for a few days, but then, my manager called me, because his manager sent him feedback on the recommendations that he wrote for me. Apparently, it needed more details, and may have cost me the interview. I'm not upset at him, I'm just grateful that it wasn't because of me. I was thinking that they didn't regard me as a potential talent. So, another position was on the website, and I put in for that. I don't know that I'll get considered so quickly after the last, but it's worth a try.
There's another position I could try for, it's a new position they just made that's basically manager-lite. Downside, I don't know if it's really a step up for me, or if it would just be a lateral move. Also, the hours would likely be shitty. But, it might be a step towards manager position. I need to talk to my manager about it, I think.
Aside from that, not a whole lot going on. Time for more coffee and getting ready for work. Everyone have a good Wednesday!
