I did not want to get up this morning. I woke up at about 5:30, but I was warm and snuggled in and I could have slept another hour at least. Technically, I could sleep til 7, but then I'd be in a rush to have my coffee and get ready for work, and in the end it would just make me sad and anxious. So, I dragged myself out of bed at 6:00, and am sitting here grumpily. I'll get over that right around the point that I get my second cup of coffee.
We had an impromptu meeting at work yesterday, and apparently the manager who was returning from maternity leave is being reassigned to another department. We're still getting a third manager later this month, but no word on how the team is being sorted. But I get to keep the manager I like for the time being, so I was pleased about that.
There's a position that just opened for a temp assignment (6 months) to the Quality team. I'm tempted to apply. It would be scoring coworkers calls, and trying to make things better for our customers. It sounds like it would be interesting, though potentially frustrating as well. I don't know what the pay scale is, so I don't know if it would be a raise or not. But, it would look good on the resume, and give me knowledge of another department, which can only be a good thing. The hours wouldn't be bad, Monday-Friday 9-5:30pm, I believe. I don't know. I'm pretty okay where I am, but the lure of something new is strong. I don't know that I'd get it, since it's been a couple of years since I was on the phones, but I may try, just for the hell of it.
Today, I shall endeavor to be more motivated than I was yesterday. I was a slug yesterday, so it shouldn't be hard. I mean, I got my work done, and worked on the project, but I did it very slowly.
The kitties are very active this morning. Sam keeps coming over and howling at me for attention and Boodle is sitting on Dad's table, rolling around and showing her belly for love. Grace, I believe is in Dad's room, probably sitting on him demanding pets as is right and proper. Of course, this will probably mean he gets up early, but that's okay.
Now I have had my second cup of coffee, and am semi ready to face the day. Have a lovely Wednesday, y'all.

Date: 2021-05-05 11:43 pm (UTC)I think you ought to research that position - figure out wage, etc., and give it a shot if you won't be losing money; as you say, it'd look good on your resume, and might be an interesting change from what you're currently doing. and if you didn't like it, you could probably return to the current job

Date: 2021-05-06 10:50 am (UTC)It's on a par with what I'm doing now at minimum, so I wouldn't lose money, but it might be a step up. I'm going to give it shot. Can't hurt.
