I'm not quite sure why I'm up this early on my day off. D&D ran late, so by all rights, I should be still curled up with a cat on my stomach. But apparently not so much. I'm not really good at sleeping in on the days when I can. Eight is pretty much my limit. It's a little annoying. I used to be able to sleep til noon, but those days are long gone.
Yesterday, I didn't do much of anything, so I'll be doing the Amish market today. I'll try to get myself together and go earlyish. It'll still be crowded, but not as bad as it gets after noon.
Watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier yesterday. Non Spoilery comment: I'm still really enjoying this show overall. It's not perfect, but it's staying solidly in my lane, and it's about my two favorite characters. Spoilery comments: Holy shit, y'all. That last shot of the blood on the shield may be one of my favorite things ever. I loved Ayo and the Dora Milaje. The fight scene was everything it needed to be, fast, brutal and humiliating for Walker. And Bucky's little face when they detached his arm! He looked like my dog when I take away an illicit treat! The flashback to Wakanda with Ayo was well done, and Sebastian Stan acted his little heart out. And Sam! Sam was just plain awesome this episode. He got to use some of that VA work, and showed a little more of Sam's big heart. Zemo continues to be entertaining as fuck, while continuing to be a garbage fire human. If there had been more of him like this, I probably would have liked Civil War more. Also, as friends of mine have said before whoever is the costume designer on this show deserves a medal. Sebastian Stan's ass and shoulders have never looked so good.
Aside from that, the only thing of note yesterday was D&D night!
Our intrepid murder muppets went to a new town, Good Mead, which is known, for well, it's mead. Three large casks were stolen from them by a verbeeg (nasty giant) raider, who also killed their Speaker (sort of the mayor of the town). Promised lodging and all the mead the party could drink in return for their help, the party set out. A hike found four of the bodies of the town militia, very very dead. Further walking found the verbeeg's lair. A fight with the verbeeg and his ogre friend ensued. Turned out the Verbeeg hit very, very hard. The party emerged victorious, but with some damage! On their way out of the cave, having recovered the mead, another verbeeg arrived, hoping for date night! More combat! Our heroes again defeated the menace, taking more damage in the process. Then, victorious, they headed back to the town for their promised reward!
Today, Monster of the Week, where we'll see what the chaos gremlins get into!
