I am having trouble focusing this morning. My sister has the news on, and my brain is poinging from place to place. Of course, I also haven't had coffee yet. I'm in the time between taking the new diabetes med, and when I can eat and drink again. Hopefully, the coffee will help, otherwise work could be interesting. Ah, it's only a half day today. Dad has an appointment with his primary care, so we can get his pain meds. It's just a televisit, so that's good. (At least, I put it on the calendar for today. If I screwed up, it may be tomorrow, but hopefully not.)
We finally got an email back from BGE, that we can finally set up the appointment to have the meter replaced. Then, they have to dig up our court to turn our gas back on. Of course, this is just in time for us not to need the heat any more, but it'll be nice to have hot water and a stove back. I really want a nice hot long shower.
I got a text from Hopkins, inviting me to be part of a Covid research study. It's just a spit sample and a mouth swab, so I agreed to do it. I have a phone interview tomorrow. It apparently is looking at DNA and how that affects the kind of case you have and how long the antibodies last. It sounded interesting, so I figured why not? Someone should get something useful from my Covid diagnosis, and it wasn't me, so maybe Hopkins can find something interesting.
After some consideration, we have decided on the Melting Pot for Jess' birthday dinner. We were thinking Fogo, but then we thought about the gauchos bringing the steaks around...past all those unmasked people, and no. Melting Pot has secluded booths, plus only minimal server interaction. I can wear a mask while they make my cheese fondue. There were limited spots available, even for May, so I'm glad I made the reservation early.
I really want April to hurry up, so I can get my second shot. It's weird being in the half vaccinated category. I know that makes no sense, but it just is oddly annoying to me. Like when you knock "shave and a haircut" without the "Two bits" part. I may be a little bit crazy.
Time to get ready for work. I am feeling very unmotivated, but oh well. At least it's only 4 hours.
