I got my first vaccine! Pfizer stabbed in my arm. This morning I feel...not great, but not horrible. I'm just a little achy and my head hurts. I didn't sleep well though, so that's probably part of it. Dad didn't really have his side effects for about 24 hours, so we'll see how I feel this afternoon.

I was kind of fascinated at the way they kept things moving. The place was packed, but they kept things moving pretty quickly and socially distanced. There was a whole lot of walking back and forth in the line as it snaked about 200 feet back and forth. Still, I don't think i stood still for more than a moment until I was in the actual shot line. Then, I had a group of three friends in front of me, so I had to wait.

I found myself a little emotional about getting it, which I was surprised about. It was just such a relief to take this step towards the new normal. My second shot is on the 19th, so I expect to be even more relieved then.

And since Jess is going on Thursday, our immunity will kick in about the same time, which will be good. We've got at least three paychecks between now and then, so I think I'm going to pull out $50/per paycheck, with the plan of celebrating Jess's birthday at Fogo de Chao. (Or wherever Jess wants to go.) They deserve a good birthday after this year.

Unfortunately, the coworker who normally does delivery updates Thursday-Saturday is going to be out this week. This means that 1. I can't call out on Thursday, and 2. I have two days to train someone to do it on Friday and Saturday. This is a big task, as I had a week and a half training before I was really comfortable. I don't even know who I'm going to be training yet, since my boss was reaching out to people to see who would be interested. I'm a little anxious about it, but I figure I'll give the person my cell, so if they get stuck they can text me. I know technically that's against the rules, but I'm not going to just dump this on them, especially since I have a feeling it's going to be one of our newer people.

It means I'm going to spend a lot of time on the headset today, going over the steps. Hopefully, I'm a decent teacher. I've never really trained anyone, so this will be a whole new thing for me.

All in all, a much busier day than I expected it to be. Here's hoping if they're going to show up, any real adverse effects will hold off until after work!

yay! glad you got the shot, and hope you don't feel any real reactions.

I hope work isn't too terrible, and the cross-training goes decently, so your coworker doesn't end up floundering
