I did absolutely nothing yesterday, except sit on my ass and watch movies/tv. I did not make it to the Amish market, nothing. I managed to stir myself to go fetch dinner, that was about it.

The very nice nurse practitioner who broke the news to us that Dad couldn't have his shot on Thursday called me back, and with some finagling got him an appt at the site closer to us on this coming Thursday. It's also in the afternoon, so I can work in the morning, and then just get off early. This makes my life much easier. I really appreciate that she kept him in mind to get back in, even if she thinks Dad's my husband. (Ew. Also, fuck, do I look that old?)

Got my ass moving this morning and went to the Amish market and got a fuckton of meat. I resisted the siren call of the bakery, as it was insane even this early. I did however, get their chipped beef, cheese and BBQ sauce pretzels for breakfast, which I shall indulge in momentarily.

So, I watched a the rest of the Snyder cut yesterday as well as the Falcon and Winter Soldier. Thoughts behind the

First up, the Snyder cut which was not bad. It was overly long, but the character set ups were nice, especially for Cyborg. Not that there was any doubt, but Ray Fisher got fucked by Whedon. Fisher was acting the fuck out of those scenes, too. As I've said, Wonder Woman was far less sexualized in this version, which was good. She was just as tough as any of the boys, and I appreciate that they didn't feel the need to throw in a female baddie so she wouldn't be getting the shit kicked out of her by Steppenwolf. The Flash was adorable, and was just so happy to be there, even when he was getting his ass kicked. Aquaman was hot. And also the voice of cynicism, which I enjoyed. All in all, I liked the movie. Batfleck's epilogue was awesome, and much as I dislike Jared Leto, he was memorable in his brief appearance as the Joker.

Then, the Falcon and Winter Soldier. Let me enumerate on the ways I loved this. I mean, I love both characters, so I was predisposed to like it, but it just hit me in the feels over and over again. The opening sequences, with the Falcon in action, and the Winter Soldier of old were both thrilling and well done. Then, onto the character work. Sam trying to save the family business was just heartbreaking. He wants to make everything better for his sister and her kids, and as the designated "fixer" in my family, I feel it. And Bucky! Oh, baby, no. No, no, no. I thought Steve was good at torturing himself, but Bucky takes the cake. The scenes with Yori were adorable, and I thought it was awesome that he found a friend, and then you find out why, and it's just...ow. Sebastian Stan's facial expressions as always sold a world of confusion and hurt. I cannot wait until these two get together and start kicking ass. So much love.
