Yesterday was very boring. Work was fine, just slow. I did a lot of delivery updates, some of the inbox, and of course, my markets. Either way, I was done by 5:45, and spent the last forty minutes futzing around. I technically could have done another market, but I did not have the energy to care.

Work did put up a new technology rule, that if your PC has problems that local IT can't fix, you have to go into the office until they figure out the problem. This can take up to 2 weeks. If you're down for more than 1 hr, you go to the office. This was put in place because people were "having problems" that miraculously disappeared when they were told to go to the office, but in the meantime, they were down for hours. Personally, I think it's reasonable, though I might feel differently if I have technical problems. Mine can usually be solved by judicious hard reboots, so I'm not too worried. Granted the sharepoint problem took more than an hour to fix, but that was just the downloading. Even if I was in the office, that would have been a slow fix. I have a feeling it won't be implemented for the people who don't have regular problems anyway.

There are some new positions posted on our site (nothing that I'm interested in) that are advertised as permanent work from home. This leads me to think that this is going to be permanent. This makes me happy. There's no one I need to see on a regular basis, and honestly, my team probably talks more to each other as a whole on Teams. Our managers are in NY, so that's not a concern, either. And fuck knows, my manager calls me all the damn time, anyway.

We did not have the steaks last night. My sister slipped on the ice and thus did not clean out the fry pan, and to be honest, I didn't feel like cooking after work (and I am going to be the one who cooks the steaks. Jess doesn't like the fry pan unless it's something easy like grilled cheese, and I don't trust my sister with my magnificent steaks.) I'm getting off early today, since I was going to take my sister to work, so Jess could go to the bank, but with more snow due to start at 10, that didn't seem like a good idea. Instead, they'll do it on Friday, and my car's tires will be put off for another week.

Jess seems to be feeling better, which makes me happy. Still a little twinge here and there, but much improved. The dog is back to his normal insufferable self, so I am feeling less overwhelmed than i was. Now, if the weather would just behave and warm up, we could get BGE in here, maybe.
