beansideAnother day, another night of motherfucking fireworks. I cannot wait for the 4th to be over so my dog will stop hiding under the bed. Also, more so than usual, we’re celebrating a profoundly broken system. I’m not proud to be an American right now. I’m embarrassed. Our president is a treasonous unfunny joke, systemic racism is laid bare and a good chunk of the country is actively ignoring and worsening a pandemic. Yeah, USA! We’re number one in every category that sucks.
Speaking of the pandemic, both Jess and I are still having post COVID-19 issues. Even though our gym is reopening, I’m not sure what I’ll be able to do. I still get easily out of breath and wheezy. Since it’s been two months since my infection, I’m starting to think that this may be the new normal. Jess also is more easily winded, and still having fatigue. There was a Dutch study that showed that 66% of mild cases sustained some lung damage. Eventually, I’ll have to get a chest X-ray or CT to confirm it. I’m still just hoping it goes away.
I’m still in withdrawal from the Lexapro. It doesn’t seem fair that a drug that did absolutely nothing should be allowed to stick the knife in while it’s on its way out.
Is anyone else going to be signing up for Con.txt? It’s a DC/Maryland con that has gone virtual and free this year. I’m going to be there. It’s part of my “get back into fandom socializing” plan. (To be fair, it’s not much of a plan at this point.). I’m looking forward to it. I’ve actually volunteered to help man the Discord channels.
