It’s been a busy couple of weeks. My company is having our tertiary meetings this week. We’re a call center, so there’s six of them. First the head honchos go over business stuff for an hour, then we have a game for forty five minutes.
I’m on the Employee Engagement committee, and we were in charge of the games. I suggested the Price is Right, which was approved. Little did I know...
I agreed to do the content, which means PowerPoint. Not to toot my horn, but I’m pretty good at PowerPoint. So, I mocked up three presentations (because our coworkers gossip like hell, and would spread the word of the prices of shit) and another dude used my template, and made three more. Then, he went on vacation.
You see where this is going. Friday, we do a run through. Problem one, the golf game may not arrive in time. We need alternate presentations that have an extra game. Okay, doable. Problem two, our head, head honcho really likes the one game, and wants more rounds. She says “make it hard.” Of course the game is the most labor intensive one. I have to go through the website and pick two products that are close in price and put them on the slide with the correct price for one of them. The contestant has to pick the correct item. Plus they wanted to change the order of games. It was just a lot of work. I still have to finish revamping the last one.
Y’all, I’m so tired of PowerPoint.
On the plus side, the engagement committee head and our head, head honcho have complimented me on my diligence in making twelve freaking PowerPoints, covering golf game or not.
I’m also in charge of all the post game prize paperwork, too. All in all, it’s a lot. I’m really grateful that they trust me so much, but by the time we finish the last meeting tomorrow, I’m going to want to drink.
