I know, I fail at staying communicative. I also fail at writing for more than five minutes at a stretch, finishing anything I write, and standing up without injuring myself. *nod*

About two weeks ago, I slipped on a very fine coating of ice that happened to lay itself on our steps, walkway and driveway. Sadly, when I slipped, I was at the top of our front stairs. Four of them. Concrete. You can guess where this is going.

Hint? Appropriate icon is appropriate.

I bounced on my ass, down all four stairs. At first, I thought I had just bruised myself, but as time has gone on, and the pain has continued, I'm beginning to think I've broken my ass. Well, my tailbone, at least. The idiot doctor at Pt 1st(which I foolishly thought would be faster and easier than the hospital) told me that he couldn't see anything on the xray. He also got pissy with me for already being on meds, like I was a druggie, and acted like I was a moron for not coming to see them right away. Bitch, please. I've got work AND, I've got Fibro/spinal issues, which means that things hurt. If I went to the ER every time something hurt? I would literally never leave. Falls mean flares, means ow. This is not normal ow.

I hate the medical profession.

Anyhow, I see an ortho on the 25th, if I can't find someone who can see me sooner. Baltimore orthos all seem to have the phone systems of death. I call, and I get voice mail. No human, just voice mail with a promise that they'll 'call back.' Cause yeah, I can totally do that while I'm at work, on the phone in a call center. That'll work just great.

Assholes.

*sigh* Anyhow, I am currently a whiny, pissy pile of butthurt. Just thought you should all know.

Been there, done that, though on a trampoline, and yes, it hurts like a bitch for months I'm sorry to say, walking and sitting, as a busted butt can't be fixed. You just have to wait for it to mend on it's own. Though with you other problems, I hope it isn't that, and it is something you can get help for. Sorry you have to wait. That's the medical profession no matter what country I'm afraid.

OH YIKES! When I was nine, I slipped on icy concrete stairs and bruised my tailbone (and knocked myself out for a minute!) and even as a kid that hurt a lot. (Er, and I'm still super paranoid about icy/wet stairs all these years later. Seriously, I go down them like I'm 80.) Anyway *hugs* I'm sorry you're having to deal with this on top of the daily crap.

Oh, God, I am so sorry. *loves* I hope you can find an ortho sooner than the 25th, especially if you're hurt that badly.

Man, this falling on isce thing is getting old! I fell about 3 weeks ago. I was laid out so fast that I was lying on my back staring up at the sky and wondering why the hell my head hurt so damn bad before I realized I was falling. And about 1 1/2 weeks ago my brother fell and cracked his collar bone. I am so ready for this shit to be over.

Hopefully you just bruised your tailbone badly. It'll feel like hell for awhile but it'll heal a lot faster than a break.

And I can certainly commiserate about the lack of writing-fu. It's pretty chronic with me.

Oh wow. Ow. Having falling off a horse and landed on my tailbone a few times I know how that feels. Once it kept hurting for a month, especially if I tried walking faster or running (I was 14 or so, don't wanna know what would have happened today). Butthurt is the word! That damn tailbone, it's not like you can put a cast on it if you break it...

Our whole healthcare system has that same "we'll call you back" system, but at least we get to request a time (if we get up real early in the morning to call).
Good luck!

I did mine coming off a horse, too. Those inflatable donut things can be your friend. It took about a month before I could sit down for more than half an hour, and three months before I would even consider going to a movie or on a long car trip. And it's not like you get much sympathy, either.

Wow, I have never appreciated living in Las Vegas more, the only ice we see tends to be in a drink. I am sending Reiki vibes of healing to you if you don't mind. Feel better.
