So much for sleeping in. At approximately 5:30am when I normally get up, the cat started her campaign of terror. First it was just yelling and coming over to claw at the covers. Then, apparently a demon possessed her, and she just tore ass around the house for a good half hour. It sounded like we'd acquired a house hippo. I have no clue how a 8lb cat can make that much noise. Then, it was more screaming like the damned. Somewhere in there, I got up and gave her more food and a Churu, but that was not enough. Now that I'm upright, all noise has stopped. She just wanted me out of the bedroom, apparently. Little fucker. I love her so much.
I resisted until 7am on the dot, so I can say I stayed in bed til 7, even if I wasn't sleeping.
Yesterday, I was faced with the realization that I wanted to go out for date night, but I also didn't want to leave the apartment. Lunch would be fine, but after dark, I just want to stay put. I don't think I'm agoraphobic or anything, I just like it here. It's warm and comfy and all my shit's here.
The new TV unit came yesterday and we had a little adventure getting it in. As Jess opened the door, the people in the apartment directly across from us opened there door, and Yoda darted out. He ran over and sniffed their leg, and then came directly back to us. Jess grabbed his collar and pulled him back and he barked a bit. Jess had a total PTSD flashback to Tucker, and was very upset for a long time. I was more like, hey, we saw what he would do, and it was sniff sniff, not bite bite. He's neurotic, but a good boy.
We got the TV unit together, and it looks lovely. I've been really impressed with the furniture we bought from Temu. All the pieces have been easy to put together. Actually, the one piece we got elsewhere was the real bitch.
I really liked the curved sides, and we can place some of our collectibles on the little shelves. It's much bigger than I thought, though. It fits easily, so I'm not going to worry about it. The only downside is that the feet for the tv broke when we moved it off the floor, so the tv is currently sitting directly on the top, leaning slightly into the wall. I need to get a rubber mat to make sure it doesn't move and fall.
It's not a fireplace, but I still love it.
Okay, I desperately need a shower, so I'm going to go do that, and try to wake up. Everyone have the absolute best Saturday!
