Good lord, it's early. at 5:15, a kitty informed me that it was time to get my ass up. I actually enjoy having 30 min to relax before my sister gets up and is interactive, so I went with that.
Yesterday I was mildly productive. I did my work, made (subpar) molasses cookies and then I made pork chops and rice with pineapple teriyaki sauce. I've been trying to cook healthy, tasty meals, in part because I'd like to get a little healthier.
Today, dinner will probably consist of meat, because we don't really have any good sides. If my check comes in, I might be able to door dash a little something, but we'll see. I could really go for some produce. I'm tempted to put in an order for all sides from Fogo. Their sides are mostly under $7, so that wouldn't be bad. And I love their caprese salad. Ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, and perfectly soft mozzarella. That would be excellent. Also their feijoada, rice and black beans. And you can't order from Fogo without Pao de Queijo. I would do a lot for those little cheese rolls.
Working on MLK day paid off, to the tune of about $200 more on this week's paycheck, which is lovely. It means I can get some food to hold us til the stupid hardship check clears on Monday.
H&R block is estimating that I'll get my tax refund around the 6th of Feb. That would be very nice.
My grocery order keeps increasing a little bit at a time as I go "I need soy sauce. I need more olive oil. I need spices. It's a lot. The Sams order is huge. I decided to switch it to shipping, because I don't want to have to get all this stuff in the house from my car if I picked it up.
Okay, time to think about getting myself together. Everyone have an excellent Wednesday!
