Third night down at the new apartment, and I'm happy to say that I finally got some sleep. Today, it's back to a normal schedule for me, so I'm actually up early for a good reason. I'm both sad that I'm going back to work and glad. On one hand, it's early and I'm still very tired from two nights of no sleep. On the other, it's been a hectic weekend, and I'm ready for routine.
I set my desk up on Saturday and made sure everything worked. My audio system had forgotten how to detect my microphone, so it was good that I checked. I was able to fix it in no time flat, and was able to call out.
It seems like the apartment has pretty good noise dampening, so I think I'll be okay as long as the dog doesn't come in the kitchen and bark.
Yesterday was a bit of a stress ball. We headed over to the house to pick up dog and sister, which was a drawn out affair, but eventually we got on the road. I cried a little as we pulled away. I know it's still our house for the moment, but it felt so final. It's not my home anymore.
We came in here, and got the dog settled. He's so confused and a little stressed, but game for it. He's barked a few times, but nothing egregious. Hopefully, he's had a good night. As usual, the day consisted of putting a few pieces of furniture together. We've got a new light in the living room, and my sister has a chest of drawers and a nightstand. She took the small light from the living room, and is all set up. Today when I get off work, we're going to make her makeup table/desk.
She's home today and tomorrow, so hopefully, she'll be relatively quiet while I'm working.
The snow is falling outside, so of course, once I get dressed, I'll need to run out to the car to get the box of coffee in. Maybe the giant sized cocoa as well. We have milk, so that would be nice. We're supposed to get up to a foot, so our snow removal crew will get a workout.
I love having a morning to myself. It's nice to sit here on my purple couch and drink coffee, and write my little post in the quiet. It's, dare I say, peaceful.
I figure with the snow, it's either going to be super quiet at work, or super busy. We'll see which it is.
Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

I figure after all 20 days are over, I may go back and do a post with brief explanations of the choices I made. I feel like some of these need context.
Okay, going to relax and maybe grab some ibuprofen. My knee is a little cranky about all the stairs I've been doing. Everyone have an excellent and warm and dry Monday!
